Yeah me neither. I would be curious to see if he can move Umberger, MacDonald, Medvedev, or Streit at the trade deadline.

AMac: Even less of a chance than Umberger
Medvedev: likely
Streit: doubtful, due the remaining term and their inability to retain salary. However, he could be moved in the offseason, or, if not, even more likely at next year's deadline.

It actually points to the weaksauce nature of some of the calls that have gone against him. He has done somestupid poop to earn his rep, but the officials have gione overboard on him consistently. (Who says there is no consistency in NHL officialting?)

Yeah, though it would be ludicrous to suspend him for that hit last night. It was a ridiculous overreaction by the ref.

Now, if they want to just sit his dumb ass for a couple of games, I'd have no problem whatsoever with that.

Getting Vinny's contract off the books was a miracle. If the Flyers would have landed a prospect to boot it would have been the cherry on top of the sundae. Unfortunately it appears Weal is not going to amount to anything.

He has put himself in the Rinaldo category.

He will lose any benefit of doubt calls. It's not a good position for the Flyers.

His rep is why I'd look to move him at the deadline. I saw the same thing happen with Glen Cochrane in the early 80s. It got to the point that every time he made contact with an opposing player, he got called for something.

Gudas has no one to blame but himself. When you are constantly going way out of position to make unnecessary hits you are just asking for trouble.

Flyers next 8 games are against teams who currently are not in the playoffs. If they are going to make a run, now would be the time.

I wouldn't be opposed to moving him at this point, either, depending on what comes back.

Unlike Rinaldo, I do think there is more to Gudas than just questionable hits. He's a better defenseman than Rinaldo was a forward.

You just have to weigh the costs of his penalties versus the good stuff he does.

I am actually feeling that way.

I love having the physicality back there but not at the expense of penalties and rep calls.

If they move him I would be ok with it. But I would look for some size and physicality in FA(Martin, Weise) or maybe a guy like Dwight King.

They can send him down to the AHL next season and he can play top line minutes until he gets called up. They might be trying to work him up to speed. I dont know. There is a whole mess right now going on with the forwards. Laughton can't crack the lineup some nights that doesnt mean he amounts to nothing
