I like he plays with a swagger and your seeing it more each game.

Plus I wonder what he said to Farnham at the end when he was on the ice. Looked like bench guys were laughing and farnham went nuts.

I like him more each game.

Me too. He reminds of this guy though

Can move his rights in the summer...

Yeah, but I don't think the return would be as good.

No but its better than nothing.

Let's not act like Toronto won't do something stupid to be the first one to throw a max offer at him.

Can you imagine if this was the Flyers' scenario?

I can't imagine a GM hated more in Philadelphia than Ruben Amaro Jr. was, but a scenario like the one in Tampa ending with that team out of a playoff spot, while alienating one of your best young talents and losing your best player in free agency would probably surpass Amaro hate.

Are you kidding? Hexy, Provorov, Konecny, and Sanheim have a group chat where they send each other pictures of their sacks. But it's done out of love.

Yeah but that kind of defeats the purpose.

They are acquiring assets likes picks to rebuild. If they just throw picks to get a "chance" to talk to stamkos early how wise is that?

There are only so many teams that will be able to fit Stamkos. Not sure you have to give assets to talk early.

If they drop out of the playoff spot before the deadline, can you move Stamkos after you just publicly said he isn't going anywhere?

What if they get some huge offer that helps them for the future?

I would never publically state anyone is not being traded.

I think it worked well for the Flyers

What are the chances that he did that because Stamkos won't waive and wants to shut down the distractions?

Hows the weather in Calgary, Travis? Oh wow, that looks cold! It's low 40s here in Philly.

Yeah.

But they only moved Matt Clackson and a 3rd rounder.

I don't think that works for Stamkos.

Option 1: Matt Clackson and a 3rd
Option 2: nothing

Which do you take if you're TB?

Maybe.

But haven't you put yourself in a corner now. I have to do what is best for the team. If it looks like resigning stamkos is not going to happen then I would move him if I could get a legit offer.

I don't totally take him off the table.

It was like the Nationals' GM saying he was going to limit Strasburg's innings, then couldn't use him in the playoffs because he hit that limit. Never ever speak in absolutes like that when you're the GM.

I know.

Just think it is a hard sell to your fans after you could have moved him at the trade deadline for probably something better.

He has a No Move. If he won't go how do you trade him?

If that is the case, better just to cap it and concentrate on the playoffs. He's taken the decision out of your hands.

I thought that was the dubest thing.

You never know when you will get back to the playoffs and they shutdown their best chance that year.

Carter: "Hey, when I signed that huge extension, I wanted to stay here in Philly. Will I be a Flyer moving forward."
Homer: "Of course you will."
Carter: "Thanks, Mr. Holmgren, that sets my mind at ease."
Homer: "Good to hear. Hey, how do you like Columbus?"

They could have just held him out of his last 3-4 starts since they were running away with the division.

I am sure if he knows that getting a new deal will be tough, I am not sure why he wouldn't want to go to maybe a contender. Right now the lightening are close to missing the playoffs.
