Sure.
Word of warning, Morgan was drafted by the Leafs so he's a bust - walshyleafsfan
But he is from Vancouver so there is still hope |

I prefer the way Burke did it to get both twins. We were competitive yet he did smart trades to get #2 & #3. You dont need to tank a whole season - SMBDragon
Oh WOW!! we were never competitive when we drafted the twins, we finished 3rd to last that year with 58 pts where do you think the #3 came from? |

Normally a trade deadline acquisition needs more than 11 goals to be attractive, otherwise we would all be trade deadline targets - walshyleafsfan

Apparently Cody Franson was the real ticket (Shanny did em good, he did em good and proper) |

So if we are looking for a Franson equal and an 11 goal scorer for a first rounder Weber and Vrbata ought to be fine |

They also need to have at least one good season under their belt. Vrbata's got three. Parenteau has -4 |

It may have been....too long ago to recall anymore. Think the #2 was from Tampa for McCabe and a pick of some sort, prob 1st. ...and not sure on #3....that may have been ours. Dont care anymore....the twins have been here 15 years. - SMBDragon
We had the 3rd overall 1999, we traded McCabe, and our 2nd rounder to Tampa for the 1OA, Burke then turned around and traded the 1OA to Atlanta for the 2nd OA. |

How's Weber's PP assists by letting Kessel and JVR do the work? If good, then yes, you're on your way to Bracco, Lipstick, Dermott and Dzierkals

yeah
The main piece of the puzzle was trading Bryan McCabe, the strong defenseman acquired in the Trevor Linden trade, to the Chicago Blackhawks. McCabe and a future first rounder landed Vancouver the Blackhawks first round pick, which was number four in the draft. Now Burke had two top five choices, but he needed to make sure that neither Tampa Bay nor Atlanta would snatch one of the Sedins at number one or two. Burke traded two later round selections and the number four pick to Tampa Bay to move into their number one slot, and then sent a pick to Atlanta to allow the Thrashers to move to number one with an assurance they would not pick a Sedin. That left Vancouver with the number two and three choices, which landed them Daniel and Henrik, respectively. |

Was just about to post the same paragraph. Looking back that was a pretty (frank)ing terrible draft year. |

No kidding, there are only 9 players from that draft year still playing in the NHL and 4 of them play on the Canucks.
