I saw a quote yesterday that in 2014 Crosby and Co. pretty much thought Boston was the team to beat in the playoffs and didn't take the Rangers that seriously, especially after going up 3 games to 1.

I think Penguin fans share that same sentiment, Rangers got lucky in 2014 and last year they just blame injuries.

So by that logic we can agree that in 1992 the Pens were lucky because of the fluke (terrible) Ron Francis goal that changed everything when we were close to going up 3-1 in that series? I'm sure that's what they would say, right?

And the whole Rangers are boring thing. I am sorry the team didn't entertain you. They went on the road without their best defensemen and forward, and played a fairly sound defensive game, gutted it out, and got good goaltending. They played a good road game, because that is what good teams to in the NHL (especially when your shorthanded). Playing from behind the whole game and ultimately getting shutout can be pretty boring for the team that got blanked. That's just the way it is.

Thats what kills me, I'm sure 1/2 of them still think Torts is the coach. People want to argue Torts style with the Rangers was boring, I can't disagree. AV's style is a 180 of Torts though.

And sometimes teams don't have their legs. Prime example last night. Didn't have much of a forecheck, sloppy mistakes, lots of turnovers. They basically played the perfect road game, even though they were missing some key players and had no jump.

By this point now they were supposed to be 1980s Oilers esque. Its boring seeing them get all the attention & calls & have little to show for all they're (& they're fans) arrogance.
