Just a thought, but maybe Schultz is sitting because he's bad.

I like the direction. We have a good problem occurring. Not enough roster spots for the talent on the farm.

In two years Demko and Boeser might be on this lineup and probably this years pick as well.

Utica should also be well stocked

what a revelation, eh? I'm not sure anyone picks him up for that price. He is ideally a 5-6 guy who learns a system and maybe (big maybe) one day can be a top-4. Wonder where his confidence is after this though. But I think you take that risk signing him as a UFA in the summer.

These don't sound to me like the words of a coach who is trying to showcase a player for a trade:

β€œHe needs to watch a game and reflect on his play and what his impact is offensively and defensively.” - McLellan on Justin Schultz.

I think every coach can learn from what Babcock was able to accomplish by praising DP.

Still lots of holes to fill but at least we have a prospect pool to mention under Benning, for that I'm thankful.

For sure. I think he's worth taking a flier on, he's got talent, just needs to be deployed in a way that he can develop.

It's Babcock though, the God among coaches, anything he says is the gospel. I doubt anyone other than Quenville or him could get away with buttering up a mediocre/marginal/overpaid player and actually upping his trade value.

How important is it to keep a coach like Green? Any chance you replace WD so you don't lose him? I'm not convinced he could do the job now, but if his contract is up, why not pay him NHL money to run the farm? When the current Comet prospects are ready, he transitions with them to the big club. Really embrace D&D

Another thought: If TB does sign Stamkos, do they have enough cap to resign Hedman...

Gaudreaux Bouma and Monahan out of Flameslineup tonight. Being disciplined by Hartley for boozing it up Super Bowl weekend. 11 forwards 7 D .

Just remembered a dream from last night.

Turns out my subconscious is pro tank.

Frank Corrado just went from the press box to the #2 pairing and the 2nd PP unit.

Will wonders never cease.
