No. He is to not suck so much. Are we allowed to expect him to put up a couple more points? If he is good as a third line center, and can put up points from there, shouldn't he be able to perform better than this on the PP?
- hscesq

Sure maybe he should shoot more often instead of looking to set up Patches every time he has the puck.

But the PP?

That's dreadful with or without him.

Here's my 2 cents and I'm almost done.

They're asking 3rd and 4th line guys to fill in top 6 roles because they can't/won't go out and get the right guys to fill those roles.

Not to mention, they've over paid some and made bad decisions on others.

Why blame a person who's failing at something he's not capable of doing in the first place?

I don't disagree he's overpaid, same as a few others.

My point is, he's just doing what he is asked to do, and what he's being asked to do, he's not capable of.

It's not his fault, it's the guy(s) that are asking him.

Does anyone see this??

I don't think anyone is disagreeing with you Pete.

The real question is why he is out there...

And who should answer that question, him or the person(s) that are putting him out there?

He's not? I ask again - you don't think he's capable of putting up more than one point on the power play since November?

Desharnais isn't producing. Not "not producing a lot". He does...nothing.
- Pecafan Fan

Oh I agree 100%.
I watched Nfld over the weekend play 2 games. There's noone there ready to play in the NHL. Not this year. And not next year either. Those who are NHL ready are already here, except maybe for Carr.
Time for MB to find a #1 center and a #1RW, what else is new?

Is that because he's being asked to play over his head?

Ok, you're an engineer and you're really good at building bridges.

One day your boss comes to you and says, "Fred, I'm giving you a raise and you're now in charge of building office towers", so you accept the raise and do what you are told, but you fail at it.

Who's fault is that?

- pete26

Except I did not ask for a raison and a new position. Pretty sure Desharnais asked for more money and more minutes. At this point we are entitled to higher expectations.

Ok, no more hinting around.

He shouldn't be on the god damn powerplay in the first place, he's a (frank)ing #3 center.

You know who should be on the god damn power play?

You're god damn #1, and #2 centers....period.

Oh, and I know they don't have a #1 center, they have a #2 and a plethora of #3's and 4's..

And again I'll ask you, who's fault is that??

He's making an awful lot of money to not kill penalties, and to not play on the PP. You think he should just be third line center and that's it? Don't his previous numbers warrant power play time? Shouldn't we expect more than one point since November from him?

Eric Stall for #1 Center
Vrbata for top RW

If Phanoof can be traded, Trade Emelin/Gilbert and then trade for a legit partner for PK.

Plan the parade.

Pete I believe I gave you your answer two or three pages ago.

1st at fault is Bergevin
2nd at fault is Therrien for misusing him.

MB: We want to pay you $5 Million.
DD: Know. Pay me less.

I don't think that's what happened.

I'm afraid these 2 trades could very well happen. Only good if scraps goes the other way.

Maybe he is not.

Let's look at his performance over the last 3 season (including this one)... the previous 2 years, he was virtually pointless int he first months of the season, until the January hit. This year, it is as if it is the opposite - he put up points early, but has done nothing since.

Why is that happening?

I just think if the players on his line are driving offense around him, he will benefit from that and contribute. But DD is not the kind of player that drives offense to make others better around him.

(I hope I am explaining that in a way that makes sense).

Yes, I know, haters are gonna say every player needs productive linemates to be successful. But there is a difference between a player generating offense and a player benefiting from other's offense production.
