He's better so he should get more.. - Fruitcakenipple
Flames fans are kinda like that. They think Kris Russel is a top pair D man on most teams other than the Flames. |

Russel is one of the Flames worst d men. Gets way too much ice time. |

This kinda makes a Hamonic for Trouba deal almost a guarantee.
Hamonic is on a solid contract that will definitely reward the Jets later on down the road if they make that trade.

Lets hope so as Hamonic wants to go for family reasons. And no other team is in walking distance from Winnipeg apart from the Jets

I've had well enough of all this Buff Stuff. It was a sluff and bluff and leaves Ek in a Huff.
HONESTLY EK ---- You basically have revolved your blogs all season on Buff.

Terrible contract. 7.6 mil at 30 years old? Would have gotten 8 on the open market? Sekera and Petry both make 5.5 mil? Wtf? Phaneuf is officially not overpaid. Guy gets way too much undeserved hate. |

Hope Tampa doesn't make the playoffs, loses Stammer in offseason, and Yzerman gets fired over mistreating the kid and ruining the team. - Bullot
This seems a little....harsh. |

i think it's hard to compare to those contracts.
brodie has some rfa years in his. Gio's goes until he's 38
smart move to have a higher cap hit to keep the term down for buff imo. |

Its 5 years, Jets are a low cap team, gave Buff a 2.4m raise, I dont see that a major issue for a team with that much tap room.
Who cares what Buffs cap hit, its not my money paying for him |

I wouldn't say that at all. Does it make it more likely? Sure.
But if Trouba thinks he's worth $6.5M/per over 6 years he's sadly mistaken. Snow won't give that to him. |

I bet he waits till Jones signs. But if Dougie H is getting 5.75m off his ELC, is he really that far off asking for 750k more with the cap going up?
I wouldnt be shocked to see him get 6m, someone will pay him that |

Eating RFA years is a great way to lock guys up in their prime long-term. Snow did it with a few Isles guys and they're on great deals. Tavares is, arguably, the best contract in the league (although Josi's is in the running too). Hamonic's deal is insanely low for what he brings. |

I wouldn't be shocked to see him get it, I'm just not so sure it will be from the Isles. He's not worth it though. Not yet, anyway. I'm not sure that's a gamble I'd be willing to take. |

Im with you on that, you would probably have to over pay in a trade amount, and then over pay in a new contract, just not worth the gamble on him.
Jets probably will be pushing the bridge deal pretty hard on him. |

i'm not sure if that's a given
something just under hamilton's cap hit on a long-term deal seems about right for trouba to me. rielly should be in and around there too. |

My sources are telling me if buff gets over 280 lbs the contract is terminated. |
