All this draft talk is really depressing, I know it's what needs to happen, but, as soon as you start getting excited about high draft picks it means you're team is done for several years. Not to mention anyone they pick, outside of a generational talent, which isn't available this year, isn't going to help your team for years to come.

Especially if it's a dman, it's probably three years down the road before you see him contribute. Unless, like I said, he's a top three pick.

There is no "magic", it's draft, develop and be patient

I am patient. I have embraced the rebuild. I have also put my faith in Benning. If within three years he can do anything close to what Tallon has done in FL, then I will be happy.

I wonder how the deal affects the value of Hamhuis. I know term and cap hit worked against Phaneuf, and the two teams were basically trying to reallocate cap hits, but its a top 4 Defenseman being moved for some cast aways and a draft pick

sometimes pending ufa's have value just because it is a rental.

what is that saying about prostitutes? you are paying them so they leave after?

I dont doubt he has value, guys with term and cap hits are more challenging to move. I am just curious if it changes the market at all. Its possible with one less top 4 option that it raises prices for teams making a run

The trade didn't hurt the market for sure. might be the start of some trades between other clubs who want to improve and not wait til the last moment.

Just hope JB isn't hesitant about moving any ufa's if we haven't been mathematically eliminated from a playoff spot.

I'm not worried about that...I'm confident that he will move our UFA's but my fear is Hamhuis won't waive. Hansen needs to go as wel
