As I've said many times, I can take the losing if it's with kids, but watching the "same old" older players is a show-stopper for me.

Benning has 7.1 million dollars in the minors with Higgins, Weber, Prust & Kenins...three of those contracts are his. That's mismanagement!

Willie Desjardins is in over his head, so it seems, could be some changes this summer?

Kenins contract doesn't count against the cap as its under 950k.
Prust and Weber gone in June because they are short term

No question WD is in over his head. He may be the worst coach the league. Unbelievable how some still devend him.
I particularly like how Vey was on in the last minute

Problem is you can't carry both players

When players come off of long injuries they usually have a very good game. Dan played well last night but it doesn't change the fact this D needs an upgrade.

I would even go as much as saying he is better than Edler, but can you make that switch?

Edler eats 25 minutes a night , plays in all key situations and is four years younger with a NTC.

You can't bring back both. you can't make change by bringing back the same people and doing the same thing

We are letting go of a few players , we need to ring in a shot that can score 15 g 40 PTs, and we need a protector

Not sure. I would prefer seeing linemates take care of themselves. When Sedins Hansen Edler Tanev are on the ice if there is a cheap shot there is no one to retaliate until Biegas next shift.

Tanev and Edler should not be paired for that reason alone. The back end needs some toughness and players that hit.

Yeah he would be a decent pick up for 3 years 5 mil but it his last big hurrah, so it will be a Clarkson type deal

Well I believe we all know where I stand on that. I'd have hammer in a willie Mitchell style role for 3-4 more years atleast. Move Edler for best deal possible and grow you're young ins. I'd move tanev for hamonic keep Hutton Biega leaves three spots for young guys like tree pedan or stud draft pick. If you get a young d man in Edler deal then great ya got him too. Grow our defense, for once in this teams history let's dedicate some time to building a team not just trying to trade/ and sign one.

You can't just throw all the kids in the line up and think it works. Gotta suround them with vetern solid players. Or you become edm for 15-yrs

Hamhuis to Washington for 1st + prospect.
Edler to Detroit for 1st + prospect.
Vrbata to Arizona for 2nd.
Tanev to Islanders for Hamonic.

I'm happy resigning Hamhuis so he can play another 3 years here. But we need to trade him and then sign him back in the summer. We need that 1st, and I think he understands that and won't have a problem waiving and then signing back in the summer for 3 years $10m.

Hamhuis Hamonic would be a decent top pairing while we load the shelves.

Or you could ask him if he wants to play for a better team in a better city like New York or Miami
