Not sure. I would prefer seeing linemates take care of themselves. When Sedins Hansen Edler Tanev are on the ice if there is a cheap shot there is no one to retaliate until Biegas next shift.
Tanev and Edler should not be paired for that reason alone. The back end needs some toughness and players that hit.
I like LUcic but boy he looks slow. Anything after 2/3 years is trouble - VANTEL

Edm is on yr 11 and still a ways away - Bieksa#3
10 years (05/06) ago the Oilers had a 95 point season and went to the Stanley Cup finals? I'm not an Oiler apologist but it's not as long as some would make it out to be.
The following year (06/07) they had a 71 point season and drafted 6th overall, then (07/08) they had an 88 point 41 win season and just missed the playoffs finishing 9th in the West.
Then in (08/09) they had 85 points, drafted 10th overall....that's when their decline started IMO. Which is only six years ago. |

That sounds amazing. I have a beer pong table set up for the super bowl but haven't figured out food. Do you have a salsa recipe? |

The Oil are further along than they get credit for at this point. McClellan has done some good things with that club and Chiarelli will bolster that D. They will be contending for playoff spots soon enough. |

Fixing the D
We need to get a guy with a very good point shot.
We need a tough guy protector
We need to fix the RH second pairing.
As I said yesterday our Right Side is pretty weak. Tanev and Biega are all we have . That needs to be fixed and I don't mean taking a leftie and playing him out of position.
Down the left side you have Edler Hamhuis Sbisa Hutton Pedan Tryamkin. Say goodbye to a few. Start building properly |

That's also a great way to make players around the league steer clear of wanting to play for tou - Bieksa#3
Who's racing to come for a basement dwelling team ? The object is to improve the team as quick as can be. You can't do that without young assets. You don't get young assets unless you move vets that still have value. Not rocket science what has to happen here. |

You can't just throw all the kids in the line up and think it works. Gotta suround them with vetern solid players. Or you become edm for 15-yrs - Bieksa#3
True, but I don't think a team needs to keep their long serving veterans who tend to be overpaid for their current skill set (see Burrows).
A team can pick up good quality veteran leadership during free agency. There are always experienced team-guys waiting to be signed over the summer and you can usually pick them up at bargain prices.
Our team needs to focus on getting young and more talented. Veteran presence on the team, although important, is low on the priority list. |

If you waive all of your existing vets and send them to the minors you'll have a difficult time attracting new ones. |

So keep them and turn the team into a country club (not open to youth) like it has been for the last decade? Let them grow old together and digress? I'm okay with things as they stand. |
