Idk boys, I feel pretty good about this game tonight. Im guessing zatkoff plays decent enough for us to out shoot them. Love watching Jags anytime you get a chance. DP is starting to look better and better, confidence is starting to show. I just wish however, this NHL.tv stream gets better. Its absolutely horrible. |

I'd rather they trade Cole for Doughty. |

Wouldn't do it straight up, Kings would have to add. |

I prefer my idea from last blog - trade Sheary for Weber.
And then flip Cole for Jordan Staal with Carolina retaining $5 mil a year of salary.
And of course they should get massive compensation when someone hires Mike Johnston to be their next head coach. |

Last nights game by fluery is exactly why I am so happy to have murray waitning. When Ever we really need a good game from him we don't get it. We got lucky to get the win vs Ottawa.
Wonder what we could get for him. I would take an early second at this point.

Unless he can score 'some' goals or continue putting up assists this board will turn on him in my opinion. At 4m speed only gets you so far, at the moment that line looks good. But if things like passing up shots (yesterday), because you're not confident & that line stops scoring (which you think shouldn't happen with Geno & Philbo on it), that 4m will be being questioned big time!
Everyone is quick to defend the trade by saying Perron played well when he first arrived here then disappeared, but even though Rags fans said don't expect Shags to do much scoring, there's a few on this board that have a huge hard on & are happy for him not to score goals!
he has assisted... he has played good. what do you expect? a hat trick every 3rd game? a 55 game point streak? give me a break...
you talk about the boards opinion about if he don't score he will be slanderd then you say the EXACT same thing.... - martox

No my man, I'm saying scoring assists will hold water, but for 4m he needs to be able to put the puck in the net as well - yesterday being a nice example or does he have to play with Geno & Kessel every game??? What happens if that line stops scoring - goals win games & having speed disrupting oppositions D is great but someone has to score at the end of the day. If you want fast skaters that can't score go get that Olympic speed skater that won 1000 gold medals!!
If he continues to 'assist', he is scoring. If he comes up with duck eggs on the score sheet 4m is insanity for a top 6 winger that can't score (if his line scores because of his away from the puck work ok) - that's what I'm saying. The board will turn on him if that's the case is what I'm implying as it should. Perron is a physical player that forechecked & ran into other players disrupting the game, but when he didn't score that was I ignored & he was slammed for not scoring. I'm hoping Shags can be productive here - I'm a Pens fan after all & want the best team possible. People are being very defensive about Shags???? |

The (frank) man? We never get good games from Fleury when he's needed? He is the only reason we're in the playoff hunt right now. |

Given they have played more games than a few teams behind them but the Devils are 3rd in the Metro!!! Who would have picked that nose at the start of the season??
Maybe we should have hired in house after all?? |

I like Sundqvist. Great on the boards and protecting the puck with his size. We will need him up next year full time. |

Stamkos is a whole different ball game. We'd have to give out a contract bigger than Crosby or Malkin's current ones. We'd have to move more than just Kessel to make that happen. |

All things considered that was probably Zatkoff's best period of hockey of the season |

I agree he wasn't flopping all over the place and had good positioning. They need him to steal a game. |

Blame the goalie, just like any stupid football fan that watches hockey would do. I hate pittsburgh sports fans. |

I really think Porter would be better with Kessel and Hagelin. He's go the speed and he's a much better offensive center than he was a winger, pretty impressive in terms of ability to skate to open ice and find guys who are ready to shoot. And then Cullen can play with Kuhnhackl and Rust and make that line a little better. |
