At least Mashinter is an improvement over Bickell!

Because Q gives him 3 minutes less per game?

Successor to the St. Louis Braves, who moved to Dallas when the Blues came in in 1967.

Always meant to ask how you came to be a Braves fan? Living in down state IL or something?

Face off wins 14-8 Hawks, including that huge one by AA on that first goal.

Good things the refs are different for you guys tonight. The ones from the other night might have called Seabrook's goal back for a guy have a skate blade in the crease.

Niemi playing a stinker? Hard to tell on the tiny twitter screen but some of those goals look a bit suspect.

Went to Washington U. Back in the early 60s - saw a lot of games at the Arena.

Always like the city - back then, Gaslight was still alive, good Italian on the Hill, good blues across the river - Tony's and Al's when someone's parents came down....

The entire skate in the crease rule is a farce. When it was illegal to have any part of a skate in the crease (interfering with a goalie or not) a SC Champ was crown on an illegal goal.

I think that was before the SLU team played there....maybe I am wrong.

If you go back, go to Tony's. Mr. Bommarito still comes by and greets all the tables at some point during dinner. I saw him a few weeks ago. Still a top notch place.

Whatever you do, DO NOT go to Al's. My wife and another couple went there last year because we had been talking about going for a long time based on what our dad's had said about the place. Let's just say it wasn't good. Thank goodness for good company.

So Refs blew a play dead when the wild were getting a too many men on the ice and the blues had the puck entering the wild zone.

Great period, Love the third line of Desi , 24, and TT great defence of line. I must admit i was having doubts if Hossa was going to be able to contribute of fence this year. (Tip of a hat to J J for not losing faith in Hossa) Toews, thanks NHL for the suspension

Appears not. Somehow in the flyers game this morning they never put a flyer in the box to serve Simmonds penalties.

Too bad about Al's.

Don't remember any college hockey down there - the Hawks were still there, we'd go see them at Keil, and the baseball Cardinals at Sportsman's Park - a fun old ball park.

Yep. Announcers originally said it was an offsides call but they don't know anything either given the linesman signaled onside and the ref later apologized to the bench.

I think Slu hockey was in the early 70s but supposedly they were pretty good and a good time to go to.
