Someone earlier stated sick with flu maybe it was jj? - Abadseed
Ya I saw that as well but he stated best guess if I recall correctly, just remember someone stating that he may not have traveled to Dallas and than Tracey noted him on lines in the pregame skate. |

He may very well be coming off an illness but I could also see Q using Mashinters apparent great work ethic to drive home a point if it isn't. |

Guy is a player and seemingly one who looks to improve....... Interestingly enough I read somewhere about Cooper breaking up the Triplets. He said he tried Kucherov with Stamkos but he always deferred to him (Panarin to Kane early in the year?) so he tried Palat with Stamkos and that worked. Said that Kucherov changed his game playing with Stamkos and Palat didn't.
Love that a guy like Kucherov looks to a guy like Kane to improve but at the same time you have to find balance and do what you do best while looking to add to your game.
As Kucherov notes there is just no time and space come playoff time. Something all those who are looking to make trades need to keep in mind. It's not as much skill as experience that buys one time and space, and that's playoff hockey. - Mr Ricochet
If you gave me a choice of one of the triplets, I take Kucherov because he is the toughest to play against and has the most will to win. I think a lot of people take Johnson. Not me. |

So I saw Joni pitkanen played his 1st game in 3 years overseas today. He was very good when healthy in the NHL. He is only 32. Hypothetically when his season is over could the hawks sign him, and if he is not up to speed bury him in the AHL? I watched a few minutes of highlights and he moved well. And he is a pretty big guy.
I feel like with d man that the trade deadline sucks for what u get.
In regard to sekac, if he does not like sefac, bring Dano up and run him on the 4th line RW OR LW. He inserts mash in the lineup and then parks the line in the 3rd. It makes no sense. |

Philly Rangers game is really chippy. Even Stalberg getting into it, and refs have swallowed their whistles. |

My feeling is that is if Bickell goes anywhere, which is doubtfull, it will be Calgary. Probably have to give up a mid range prospect and a pick with Russell/Hudler coming back. - walter34
Bicks will end up in Carolina. They have 8 UFAs, and won't sign many of them. With a couple other trades, they could be more than $11M under the CAP floor at the end of the season. |

Bickell and Sekac for Versteeg. |

This isn't some fluke or anomaly...I know a lot of fans here didn't like Garbutt, but I did...speed kills in the NHL and his physical style play can make him dangerous on the forecheck. Sure, he had hands of stone, but he's an NHL player...Mashinter isn't. |

Looks like the Oiler train came quickly off the rails. Down 3-0 in Montreal in the 2nd. |

They were the ONLY team that were still talking to Bowman regarding a deal including Bickell AFTER he got sent down. Ronny Francis is a smart guy, he's not fooled on Bickell, but they want a certain Hawk prospect and might be willing to accept Bickell's contract. BUT, and this is a HUGE but, it will cost the Hawks in other ways. For someone like Francis to take on Bickell for one season will mean a high draft pick or another up and coming player...which is why it is virtually impossible to move him. |

EDIT now 4-0 with a minute left in the 2nd period.
Looks like no Canadian based team will make the playoffs this year. |

Realistically I see only two ways out of Bickell's contract:
1. Wait it out for another season with Bickell in Rockford; or
2. A buyout this summer. |
