True, and Chicago's goaltender was much better. Great goaltending on one side faces 40 shots, horrible goaltending on the other faces 27 shots. 5-1. - John Jaeckel
Surprised at how lopsided this stat is, considering what I thought my eyes saw, but:
Corsi at even: 26-51
Corsi all: 39-71 |

The Stars are a fraud. I don't want to hear anything about them (or the Capitals) until they actually do something that matters. |

Great win tonight...
Hawks sending a message to the West for sure and as JJ points out to the league.
No Spezza tonight which I'm sure the Stars will point out...
Thought Danault was great tonight, how bout that backcheck on Sharp early on...
have to give some credit to Stan and Co. You've lost Richards, Vermette, and (Kruger due to injury) and you have Anisimov, Danault and Moose et all..or TT (who looked good defensively in a couple of spots tonight...
And now Hossa only 4 away from 500! Should be three but let's give a shout out to the horrid officiating in Phoenix one more time.... |

2 things:
First of all whats up with the whole Sekac/Mashinter thing? Why aren't we playing Sekac?
Second of all, and this is being ultra picky because i really love the all around game our new 3rd line(Desjardins-Danault-Teravainen) brings to the table....but is it too much to ask for a 3rd line that scores more often? I think we've been most dominant when we've had a 3rd scoring line, and i wonder if/when we add another LW that shakeup causes changes that add some scoring punch and break up what otherwise has been a great, hard working line. - SimpleJack
Sekac had the flu. The real flu that it can take a few weeks to really shake. At least a handful of Hawks did, including Toews, Hossa, possibly Gustafsson, Anisimov. |

Too bad about Al's.
Don't remember any college hockey down there - the Hawks were still there, we'd go see them at Keil, and the baseball Cardinals at Sportsman's Park - a fun old ball park. - StLBravesFan
St. Louis University had a D1 hockey team in the 70s. A teammate's brother skated there. |

From what my dad said, their goalie served as the emergency backup for the Blues home games. |

My recollection was that they had good competitive teams. No idea when they dropped hockey. |

Maybe he just had a bad game, but Klingberg was terrible in his own zone. He got turned around and almost fell down on the 5th. |

From Wikipedia:
Saint Louis University once fielded a NCAA Division I hockey program that played in the CCHA from the 1970–1971 season until the program ended in 1979. The team was a strong team in the CCHA and over the nine seasons of play SLU made the championship six times.[9] |

the first 2 months..this team was out of sync: new players, keith hurt, toews/hossa a slow start, "cup hangover", 4-7 dmen unsettled...
it was crawford who carried this team along with 88-15-72 on the scoring end...
others have said it...kane is the league MVP...but craw is the team MVP...

The entire arena was confused on a few of the penalties that got called. A lot of the holding called on both teams was pretty borderline IMO. Anisimov has been due for a shortie, has had some good chances lately great to see him get one tonight. The arena was about half Hawks fans, and then maybe a quarter of the Stars fans did not come back after the 2nd intermission. |

So true.
Once the Hawks got Keith back, gelled with all the new players coming in, added via subtraction with Daley moving gaining the cap space to allow Gustafsson to return, Danault arrived solidifying the 3rd line, Rasmussen centering the 4th line, etc... they've looked reeeeaaaaally good.
Panarin (24), Anisimov (27), Gustafsson (23), Danault (22, turns 23 in a couple weeks), and Rasmussen (25) indirectly replaced...
Saad (23), Sharp (34), Richards (35), Vermette (33) and Oduya (34).
That youth might help them maintain energy deep into the playoffs. The downside is a big drop in experience playing at that level.
TVR (24) and Teuvo (21) have another year of experience. Panik essentially replaces Bickell. Rundblad and Kimmo are gone. Is this team better than last year's? |

Jees what a win tonight.
Just a thought on potential:
Kane: Ross and Hart
Panarin: Calder
Crawford: vezina
Toews: Selke
Conn: Crawford
Mr.Stanley: Chicago
Not bad for a "rebuilding" year I guess. |

I know. I was listening to the first 2 periods of the game via XM with the Dallas radio guys (who are surprisingly good and fair). TVR scored right after I started listening. The announcer shouted "Score!" and excited described the play, the fans in the background let out a big cheer and stayed loud. Even some music started pumping in the stadium and I had to ask myself, "wait, this isn't in Chicago, is it?"
I quickly remembered they're on a road trip, but when Hoss scored that shorty, the same thing happened again. Hawks fans are everywhere and travel well! |

I'm in and out of the radio and TV broadcasts...for the first time in ages Weideman has been back and forth with Niemi and Lehtonen in net tonight. - ArlingtonRob
Love the way he calls games on the radio but he overuses "butterfly save" almost as much as d!ck emerick overuses "rattles around" and "ricocheted". |
