Was waiving yannick weber the right move?

really? we have people that went out and bought Weber sweaters?

waiving a fringe nhler is being questioned?

But don't you remember how angry the fans were because he traded within the division? It was a riot.

a bit surprising it wasn't worse. if reports are correct, they were trying to lower it because of windy conditions.

the swearing in the video was a bit much, I chuckled at the nbc news tag - fine reporting, but it must have been a shocking event to witness.

Hard to believe that morning show has lasted as long as it has. Two of the biggest 'sports' media tools in the game and then they add the drama queens Botch & the Grim Reaper to get things off the hook.

small doses of all the shows is as much as I can take.

Bro Jake's fake laugh gets to be a bit much.

Pratt indignant with everything.

Sekeres and Price, can be awful when they pick a cause and run with it.

Taylor can be hit and miss.

Moj and McDonald, the bickering gets to be a bit much on the afternoon show.

Can't stand Rintoul, always preaching about something, so black and white.

the free swag is a bit much with all the little plugs. hate the on air personalities reading commercials all the time, the only silver lining is when they stumble and feck up the ad.

starving for Canuck content, but the packaging always leaves much to be desired.

Its not a bad question. If he gets claimed we get nothing. If someone wants a hard shot right handed d-man we could get a pick for him. Not a significant pick. But a pick nonetheless.

Right handed D-men with a really hard shot is considered a rare commodity

It's a stupid question. If anyone would offer a 7th round pic he would have been traded already.

If JB was able to get a pick for him, that would be awesome.

We are in the fight, or said to be, for a playoff spot and Weber hasn't been able to crack the lineup of late... he was signed because of his offense and he hasn't scored yet this year.

We just lost to the 30th place team in the league...

a pick would be awesome, but I'd be just as happy if he is claimed off waivers and frees up the cap space.

sorry if I biatch a bit too much about 1040. I listen or want to listen whenever I am driving, to hear some insight into the Canucks that only the media can provide. some times they don't disappoint, but sometimes the sideshow gets in the way.

sometimes it is funny laughing at some of the old play by play stuff in the afternoons, but then that show falls apart with silliness and pettiness.

Giving away a player that we arent using and shedding his salary and NOT taking salary in return can be seen as a improvement as well. Don't always need to get something back in order for it to be a smart move

Benning has already shown that he will trade within conference as long as it makes sense for the team.

Big big differance in an offseason move and a trade when you have repeatedly told you're fan base the goal is to make te playoffs, and said trade partner is now the team you are chasing.

when you are at the bottom of the pack and the league, you are chasing every team though haha. I think it has more to do with the team actually having a legit shot at making the playoffs or not.

That's a seperate issue. No way this team makes the playoffs, and Benning knows it. But he can't admit it publicly and can't make moves right now tht contradict what they have been selling the fan base all season. Feb 29 when we are way back. Then yep all bets are off. Anyone could be had by anyone (horvat McCann Virtanen excluded)

I wondered how long it would take for people to get back to questioning JB's asset management. Saying stuff like "teams know hes against the cap, needs to move players and playing hardball to see what they can get for free on the waiver wire", though to JB's credit, reports all say he's been willing to eat a lot of cap to make moves happen
- WhiteLie

I was just listening to a Tomlinson clip and Sekeres was questioning why Weber wasn't moved at training camp?

We constantly hear how sh!tty our d is, how much work it needs and I player is waived because we need cap/roster space, and it somehow turns into JB mismanaging assets according to 1040.

If anyone wanted him for a bag of pucks, he'd be with that team already.

The only thing I think JB will or should get burned on is if there was demand/offers for Hamhuis or another Canuck dman presently and he is holding back, hoping for the playoffs.

Some people want the team to tank, others want to make the playoffs, which leaves JB disappointing everyone.
