Miller didn't play bad. The vets did nothing.

They Bearly did anything last night. I couldn't bear to watch that OT power play.

Washington has always been the most logical suitor. If we could obtain their 1st round pic we would be set for the draft. Take BPA with our top 10 pick and then take the best D man with WAS pick.
Sadly, I suspect Vrbata isn't worth more than a 3rd at this stage.

- CanuckDon

I agree with all. Hoping vrbata is worth a second still. Weber going on waivers. Hoping hes claimed. Teams in serious cap trouble.

The bear-naked truth is that they were pretty evenly matched with the worst team in the league.

I really hope Hamhuis goes to the Caps. One because I hope we could scoop one of their prospects or a pick. Two id think they have a legit shot at the cup and it would be nice to see hamhuis win a cup.

If we can unload both of them that would give us 5 picks in the first 3 rounds I think, the way benning tosses picks around its hard to keep track. But like you suggest Id hope for 3 Dmen in the first 3 rounds, then Id like to add a big center and a big winger all things being equal.

I have a feeling Dallas might take a shot at him too, which is nice for upping his value. Also, I could see Vrbata going to a team like the Ducks.

I also think the ducks are a logical fit for Vrbata. They have lots of D prospects maybe we could nab one for him even if we have to pick up salary or add a lower prospect or a late pick.

If Buff is signed and that the next best 3-4 UFA Dmen are on contenders you would have to think Hamhuis value would really go up as he is the only legit top 4 Dmen available at the deadline.

Canucks are not going to trade with a team they are chasing for a playoff spot. The optics of it are horrible. We would have to be 15 points out before Benning trades him to Anaheim.

I'm not sure if its the scars of previous years drafting, but I like JB going after prospects rather than picks. Its nice knowing more about what you're acquiring (and hopefully further along) rather than hoping some kid pans out from the draft IMO. If he gets picks back I almost hope its to package it for bigger/better returns

Id prefer prospects as well plus they are that much closer to being NHL ready.

In today's NHL, 8 points back is 15 points.

Well, I hate to be the bearer of bearable news but, i bear a responsibility to keep grimly bearing down and hoping that we both trade and resign Hamhuis as well as both making the playoffs and going deep and getting a top draft pick.

These next few weeks will bear Watching as they will make or break our chances of doing either.

The suspense is downright unbearable.

This tension is quite forbearing.

Bullfrog, I hate to be the pallbearer to your dreams, Edler is staying with the team for at least two more years.

?
Benning has already shown that he will trade within conference as long as it makes sense for the team.

If they won the cup 1040 would be complaining about the proposed parade route the next day.

I wondered how long it would take for people to get back to questioning JB's asset management. Saying stuff like "teams know hes against the cap, needs to move players and playing hardball to see what they can get for free on the waiver wire", though to JB's credit, reports all say he's been willing to eat a lot of cap to make moves happen

I can see folks questioning the Corrado move, potential is still there and could still be developed, but Weber , I think we have seen his best and maybe his worst too. He might be of some use as depth on a contender, but we saw what he could do in the playoffs last season...

But don't you remember how angry the fans were because he traded within the division? It was a riot.
