That's if you believe his argument that he was, because like I said earlier if he was he should have been sent to the quiet room and the concussion protocol would have taken over, he wasn't sent, the Flames are now in potential trouble with the league and it's an endless loop because the NHLPA should be up in arms over that fact that the Flames have now said and agreed he had a concussion and let him play?

You can't have it both ways so we'll see how this plays out.

What reaction did you expect coming into a Canuck's thread feeling sorry for yourself because a Calgary Flame got a much deserved suspension?

Wideman had a concussion and didn't see the ref ...it was more to defend himself than anything ...I'm not saying what weber did was wrong ...just that there is no way it's 20 games difference

I agree on the suspension..I thought it would be 10-15 but the appeal should bring it down a bit.

I've seen plenty of head injuries in my Arena where players aren't automatically lethargic or woozy due to a pending concussion or head shot. Sure Wideman was pissed...I would be too but in my eyes Wideman looked straight up at the ref and knew exactly what he was doing. Many players leaving the ice due to injury(concussion or not) are aware of their surroundings. Using the concussion thing to me is just an excuse but most teams, if not all teams would have spun it that way.

Hey we're all homers sometime. But the NHL had no choice really, if they let this go for a short suspension they will be saying that its okay we're not really protecting our officials and then it becomes a slippery slope where you'd see more players accidentally bumping into officials, etc.

No matter what in any sport you have to protect the officials or you let the people run the asylum instead of having some sort of order.

The NHLPA is making a huge mistake I think in using the argument Wideman was concussed because they lay it out there that its possible that players are playing concussed then and the past players and current players who may get CTE or some other brain diseases might not have a defense against the NHL in a class action laswsuit for saying "they didn't know the ramifications" of hits to the head or hits period.

I think the league needs to see how relaxed they truly are on concussions ....this looks worse on them and the flames to me then a collision that went viral ...wideman should have sat the rest of the game and the linesman too

Oh yes, I have heard of those guys. I'm saying you can't afford to miss on a top 10 pick. If a Russian was ranked 5 and he dropped to 10 then sure we should grab him.

I don't see this as a Canucks vs flames thing ...it could be argued that less wideman might be a good thing ....just saying how can you say this was a vicious attack that's all ...

Yeah, fair enough. I'm not sold on Sergachev either to be honest. I think Juolevi and Chychrun look like reare guys, skate really well and can play defense and score. Those don't grow on trees. NHL is transitioning to guys that can skate like that from the back end IMO. I want one!

its not even that he saw him or not if your rattled you just act. ive ended up in a grocery store two days after one with no idea how or why i was there. ive tried to get in to a car that wasnt mine after a game where i got blown up.
