Seriously, I think you need to step back and be more objective. It is not an "sickening , disgusting comment to make in a Canucks forum, it is akin to trolling" comment.
As has been pointed out earlier, if you truly wish to have a discussion with canuck fans try to be more engaging, rather than being rantish because you disagree that some would like a top 10 pick. At this particular moment in canucks history "they suck". They will be extremely fortunate to make the PO, (I'm being overly generous here) and are more than likely to pick in the top ten.
I follow every blog, and infrequently respond, but attacks like yours will only bring retaliatory replies where I will have to step in, hope you understand what I'm trying to advise. - Makita

Really looking forwards to tonight's game, it's the start of my holidays from work too. I'm thinking of drinking some craft beers. I know you guys are better for wine suggestions, but does anyone have any good craft beers to try? |

yes, but i feel an obligation to pull back anyone on the verge of giving any credibility to the leafs, their fans, or any affiliated entities... |

I think the move to get Tree here is very shrewd and calculated by JB. JB knows that our current D blows and there are a lot of decision to be made this off season and he cannot do that without thoroughly checking our cabinets. That means bringing the tree here to have a look in NA ice playing NA standard. Unfortunately we cant just bring him here and throw him on Nucks team and the next best option is to put him in Utica playing in the playoffs. It is pressure filled and is a sink or swim scenario. With the level of D available this UFA season, the decision will come down to a stop gap 30+ ufa for 2-3 years playing 5/6 role or a longer tern solution of 4/7 d that is younger on a 4-5 year term. |

what are chances of Hamhuis being available and at what price?
wonder if the Sens pick (if it finishes as a #8-#11) would Edler be on the block (with cowen or wiercioch coming back)... have to think Canucks want to rebuild right? - AlfieisKing
Edler is on our block, but he refuses to waive his NTC. |

Boring interview - VANTEL
Only thing I gathered from that is that he is waiting to hear back from one team on Prust. Sounds to me like he would MUCH rather get something for Prust and keep him in the NHL than to send him to the minors and watch his value drop further. |

One of your fellow posters offered Lazar + Lindberg + Cowen, which would do very nicely.

Why would anyone trade for him when he was free for the taking earlier this week? |

That is exactly what I thought . The only nugget he threw out was about Prust. If Prust is traded and his salary comes off the book then they can bring in Hamhuis. If not they still need to move someone b4 Hammer can come back which means someone being sent down or traded before noon tomorrow. |

For the playoffs. They can keep him down in the minors without affecting roster spots or cap space. Call him up in the playoffs.
If they took him off waivers he has to play in the NHL |

The other thing I noticed about the interview was no commitment to re-signing Hamhuis.
He also didn't seem to thrilled about trading for a top D. Draft and develop were his words.
Tryamkin and our draft pick will be the new add one.
Sorry Froggy. |

I think Prust is too expensive for teams to take on his Salary. I think teams would much rather have Benning retain salary in exchange for a super late pick in order to get Prust. |

That's fine but we need to shred salary also. Prusts remaining salary is less than a million . It's the cap hit. |

I see a player coming back or Benning retaining salary. Prust would have been picked up for free otherwise. Benning's hands are kind of handcuffed with this one. Not much he can do. |

i think wideman wasn't paying attention to what was going on and just looking down at the ice while skating off. he came up behind the linesman and protected himself from another collision... - kaptaan
I see what you are getting at but in this instance I just can't get there. I run an Arena for a living and I've seen it dozens of times. You can tell when the player is lethargic or is cognitive of what's going on. To me Wideman knew exactly what he was doing...was just anger and stupidity. |

Not a very big deal . We are in 24 th spot so I don't see us as a buyer. We just need to stay cap compliant. I think Hamhuis will get us a draft pick and maybe Vrbata . They will all be gone next year so wait out the next 4 months |
