In no particular order Karlsson, Subban, Keith, Doughty, Hedman as my top 5
Next 5+ includes Pietro, Gio, McDonagh, Seabrook, Suter, Boychuk, OEL
EDIT: Have to put Letang in 5-10+ somewhere
I'm sure I left one or more off this list and any top 10 type list is subjective to the lister but I have a real hard time trying to put any of those 5-10 above Hedman - uf1910
Could see those for sure. My top 5, in no particular order, is Doughty, OEL, Karlsson, Weber and Subban. Hedman, Gio and Pietro on their way up there. |

Early on in is career, and to be fair he had more than a few dumpster fire moments that many focused on. All I kept say is he's 18, he's 19, he's 20...it's coming.
Now he's a (frank)ing monster who if I had to build a team today from scratch honestly might be my 1st choice. Sure there's some homer in a statement like that but honey badger don't care and neither do I - uf1910
Clearly his play of late has pushed that out of my memory bank. I don't recall him being horrendous at any point. |

I will again say false.
Hedman's D pairing %toi
Stralman: 70%
Sustr: 9%
Garrison: 6%
Nesterov: 5%
Coburn: 5%
Carle: 2%
Those are not the numbers of a coach that consistently mixes and matches more than other coaches. I will agree that he mixes his forward combinations quite often, but his D combos are pretty much set in stone, and if they ever switch it's more attributed to trapped line changes/icings that do not permit line changes, PP time. If Hedman is jumping off the bench to play, he's coming with Stralman, not anyone else. - j.boyd919
Ok
Have the home/road splits? I would bet they are split more on road vs home with last change
I was merely basing this opinion on my observations and very limited memory. Hedman/Stralman are clearly our top pair.

He was never horrendous, he just didn't play like the stud that he is now. Made a lot of turnovers and positioning mistakes, took a bit to adjust to the NA game on a smaller rink. |

I'll see if I can poke around and find them, I don't think the sites have that kind of split, but they might. I'll have to get back to ya after the game tonight or tomorrow on that one. |

Most definitely in regards to today. Honestly it was more horrendous moments vs overall horrendous play, but some of those moments were certainly cringe inducing. Still just the normal bumps any young dman goes through, especially an 18-20 year old at times playing top pair minutes on oftentimes below average or just plain bad teams

All good. Not trying to prove right or wrong since obviously you were correct vs my assertion. I'm just shocked the % is that high but watching live and in person it's alot harder to keep track and follow pairings with any regularity than it is on tv which lends me to think the road splits might be lower b/c I am legitimately surprised by the 70% number.

Oh no, I wasn't trying to be a Richard either. That's why I enjoy all of those advanced stats websites because you can take what you see on the ice and use those websites to kind of reinforce or alter your opinion. I'm of the mindset that people who judge the game merely on the eye test aren't always right, I used to be one of those people until I started educating myself on advanced stats, it really gives you a new perspective into the game, IMO. See I would have thought otherwise, on TV you don't see them hopping the boards all the time but in person you can watch the line changes, if you're not watching all the sweet videos I'm making on the jumbotron. |

How has Coburn's play been this year? Do you guys think he could potentially be part of a deadline deal? |

He's been better but I seriously doubt Yzerman "sells" any piece of this team at the deadline. Drouin is a completely different matter but any main piece of this team won't move IMO. If we were outside looking in for playoffs or injuries put us in a position where a legitimate cup run weren't feasible I could see it but as it stands Coburn should stay and leave in the summer. |

Watching live I honestly vary shift to shift (also depends on where they are on the ice). I sit row D behind the net where Bolts shoot in 1st and 3rd. I sure as hell don't track, moreso just make a mental note like if we have 4 forwards out on PP or 3 forwards out in 4on4 situations. D pairings I watch mostly to see who is out against who since especially at home those matchups usually stay the same with last change.

Ahhh, my view from the control room is on the opposite side, where the Lightning defend twice... I'd much rather be on the other side of the action. |

Some Blues fans were speculating that some sort of Drouin/Coburn + prospect combo for Shattenkirk could be a potential premise to a deal.
Works from a cap standpoint as well. |

As a blues fan would you want that? I wouldn't if I was a blues fan |

Depends on the prospect and what the tone of the extension conversations have been. If Shatty thinks he is worth Subban money, then you are trying to figure out when you are trading him, not if. |

Been gone for a while and the board is jumping again. I get to watch the Lightning attack twice from my seats between the dots and goal line. I hate sitting behind the goal so I hate the chase club for that. I don't know why but behind the goal messes with my depth perception.
As for all this thread SIGN Hedman, Stamkos, Kucherov, Palat probably in that order - I have maintained for the longest time that Johnson is the expendable one especially if Stamkos resigns (and I really like the kid would hate to see him go but thats the cap).
Go Bolts - missing tonights game because I am out of town... I am pretty sure Wings fans bought them since I got 3.25 the face value of the ticket. Sorry for the Red in my seats Bolts fans but I don't regret the money |

St. Louis is just a female dog because he wasn't good enough to make the olympic team. Drouin situation is more on the coach than Stevie Y. I haven't seen anything regarding Stamkos being upset with Yzerman.. where is that info coming from? Dude just wants his money. - j.boyd919
St Louis was the reigning Art Ross trophy holder and 2nd team all star so he was good enough. |

Completely disagree, as did Yzerman, who if I'm correct has constructed gold medal teams before... |
