Prust's spot is already taken. Maybe if we trade Vrbata Shink will get a shot. |

Higgins, now Prust. Burrow must be looking over his shoulder at this point. |

I think we will be getting a player or two back when we move our UFA's. It would be nice to free up a contract and get straight picks... unless it is just pending ufa/salary dump, we will likely see some different faces in the lineup. |

maybe, I hope that different is a defenseman, in which case it shouldn't be a problem. I think Vrbata can be traded for a pick and I think JB will be seeking to shed salary, as you mentioned. |

I was listening to an Ian MacIntyre interview earlier, he was talking about the need to keep a couple spots open for new contracts, to sign college ufa's.... I think we are at 48 contracts right now and many teams are maxed out at 50.
So there is a good chance if we move a contract out, we will likely be taking one back.

I heard that too . He specified college which surprised me. I think there are a few Comets that will be playing their final games soon. They did discuss Tanevs brother. |

If we are drafting top 7 this year , there will be a chance we are drafting an NHL ready player. |

It sounded like a screwed up setup with the need to sign the college ufa's before a certain date that was before pending ufa's were off the books... so if you are at the 50 contract limit this season, you can't sign the college ufa's for the next season. |

Not positive this is accurate, but General Fanager is showing the Canucks at 46 contracts.

We are sitting at 47 contracts now . I think we are fine if an emergency move arises.
I think we are more concerned about the allowed call ups than anything else.

Reading the tea leaves.
Biega plays here for less than 2 months and does enough to get extended 2 years. Does not sit well for Weber or Bartowski.
I think if Burrows contributes on his line , keeps them productive and stays productive, he could be rewarded by honouring his final year of his contract. If he doesn't , it could be the end. |

I think if we pack him off he'll still count as 2.5 or so toward the cap, much like higgins' 1.5 for the next 2 years we will be paying him to play in Utica. Unless we can trade Burrows, but that contract may be a tough pill. Crazy thing is, I thought he looked really good at the start of the year even though I was ready to say bye-bye a year or more ago. |

How do you think Prusts fiancé is going to react to him being sent to Utica? On one hand he's very close to Montreal now. On the other...she's not with a higher profile NHL player anymore. Should make for an interesting few episodes on Hockey wives eh? |

Higgins cost 833 K for two years cap hit . A savings of 1.67 next year.
Burrows cost next year 2 mil cap hit and the following year is 1 mil. If he played for us it only costs the Canucks 3 mil in salary, 4.5 on the cap hit |

Who cares, they both stink up the joint on more occasions than not. Bulldog is a good depth guy because he competes in puck battles and his transition game is decent. |

any chance we will see this next season?
Edler Tanev
Hutton Sbisa
Pedan Biega
Wondering if Pedan will even be here? With the nice savings on Biega and Hutton, there should be a little extra money to splurge on a ufa dman. |

Iain MacIntyre on Prust: "I'd be stunned if he's picked up. #Canucks were willing to eat salary & they've been trying to trade for a while."
Tough market out there, not as many willing GM's to pay for experience in a tight cap world. |

Hmm well maybe a young team like NYI or FLA would want him if we eat a similar amount and get any return that would be ideal. |
