Its not about a glut in the middle. Its that dmen take longer to develop so if we can deal for one now that is a couple years ahead then its give you 2 years to find another center. Also, I dont see the sedins retiring for another 4-5 years at the rate they are playing I dont expect much of drop off.
Hopefully Buff resigns quickly or is not made available then Hamhuis will be the top Dman at the deadline unless the blues are actually going to deal shattenkirk which I doubt. - mauryballstein

Reading the tea leaves.
Biega plays here for less than 2 months and does enough to get extended 2 years. Does not sit well for Weber or Bartowski.
I think if Burrows contributes on his line , keeps them productive and stays productive, he could be rewarded by honouring his final year of his contract. If he doesn't , it could be the end. - VANTEL
Maybe 14'll be getting the 'scared straight' treatment... he always played well when he was afraid of losing his position in the league.
Would like to see 14 come back recharged and tear it up on his line with 26 and 7 |

Didn't Yzerman ask for Horvat when Benning asked what it would take to get Drouin? |

I'm getting impatient...they had the hearing last night so I'm not sure what the hold up is. If the suspension is 5 or 10 games and more I win 18 beers from a buddy! |

Ballard for Bernier Grabner and a first
- VANTEL
Exactly. Everyone criticizes Benning's asset management. But that move by Gillis was brutal. - bazz
That move was partly on AV since that idiot didn't want to include Raymond and so MG had to include Grabner and a 1st instead of Raymond and a lower round pick... |

Actually, it's the government that causes cancer, it's a known fact that in the 70's during the Cold War, they created a virus that they purposefully exposed civil service workers to, to help along human evolution that through hybridization. The virus was a vector for alien DNA taken from the Roswell crash victim just in case you were wondering. - DariusKnight

Jets - Ladd and Enstrom not at practice today. Team is telling media that both are off for "maintenance day" even though they just had the all-star break off. |

Weber to Cal for 4th
Buff wants to stay in Peg
And Harmonic is going nowhere till the draft.
That leaves Hammer as a top rated D available.
Now all we need is Florida, Caps, Islanders or Dallas to have a major injury to one of their D and we will be good. |

from Canucks Accountants,
Doing so mid-season gives Tryamkin a financial incentive to come over, as he'd take in a second payday for the year and also burn off the first year of his entry-level contract. It's a win-win scenario if that's the route the teams go; the Canucks get their man, and he has less financial risk.
