This is a bit outdated, mostly due to the fact that nobody takes candy from just anyone these days. The reasons are twofold. First, people are afraid they will be given a poisoned candy. And second, many people are concerned about the effects candy has on their dental health and their girth.

Ok. You should just read the first reason.

Habs don't have a teows or kane. That's the problem. And the hawks have young kids making a low salary that actually contribute
- cburgess

The Hawks have their "Subban" on a contract at 5mil bucks and not 10...so there's that.

Loser point is dumb because it assigns different values to a game played in the NHL.

If you want to award 1 point for an OTL, then make a regulation win worth 3 points, and an OT win worth 2 points because you failed to put the game away & basically tied it & required extra time to win it.

So, that way, every game is worth 3 points in total divided among 2 teams instead of some games being worth 3 and others worth 2. It's batpoop stupid

- twiztedmike

The loser point is bettman's way to have a perception of parity. Keep the race tight and keep fans in the seats because there is a chance

Habs could have signed Subban @ 6M, but nooooo. They wanted to sign a bridge deal!

Yes and no. At least where we live, we take the kids to a neighborhood where we know pretty much everyone.

That's a bit of an unfair comparison. Keith would be making 9 too if he signed his deal at the same time as subban

I find it comical that all these changes that were made in the past 20 years were done to increase scoring and yet here we are... still low scoring - wasn't that how they justified getting rid of ties?

IMO Subbans contract is not that big of deal. there is still many teams who would take him with that contract.

My new neighborhood is fine. My old one had the houses too far apart to warrant trick-or-treating.
