Ya, but if you wait too long, price and patches will have new contracts and will probably be making 6 or 7 million dollars more between them.
- cburgess

Toews and Kane make 10.5M each.
Pretty sure Habs can manage Price and Pax.

that and revenue sharing.

Habs and leafs among other profitable teams are paying for contracts on other teams.

- blarneylad

A luxury tax that lets you spend about 10% more over the cap but makes you also contribute dollar for dollar to the league for revenue sharing would be awesome

The loser point doesn't help either. It keeps the playoff race tighter than it should be which makes team more cautionary to give up and sell.

Everyone in the organization thinks the habs will always have a shot if they have Carey price in the line up.
- cburgess

Well, that's what I mean by this will define his tenure. if he continues with this fantasy then it truly is on him. and a colossal failure

Well it's a throw-in of negociations when both teams are offering similar salaries.

Kinda like smoked meat on a poutine.

Should be 3 points for a regulation win, 2 for OT win, 1 to the losing team.

well.... from here, it looks pretty easy to lose ground on many teams in a month or two.

Habs don't have a teows or kane. That's the problem. And the hawks have young kids making a low salary that actually contribute

This is a bit outdated, mostly due to the fact that nobody takes candy from just anyone these days. The reasons are twofold. First, people are afraid they will be given a poisoned candy. And second, many people are concerned about the effects candy has on their dental health and their girth.

Ok. You should just read the first reason.

Loser point is dumb because it assigns different values to a game played in the NHL.

If you want to award 1 point for an OTL, then make a regulation win worth 3 points, and an OT win worth 2 points because you failed to put the game away & basically tied it & required extra time to win it.

So, that way, every game is worth 3 points in total divided among 2 teams instead of some games being worth 3 and others worth 2. It's batpoop stupid
