as the organization currently sits? no, they don't have the pieces to build on that core. they just haven't added any high level performers in Bergevin's tenure so in hindsight, an injury to Price made this entire meltdown inevitable. |

Of course they could win with Pacioretty, Subban and Price. They need to build around them. Not by adding 4th liners, but by taking chances on talented kids. Like Sekac. It didn't work, but that's the kind of move you need to try. Like Panarin in CHI. That one worked.
Problem with the Habs, they have very little to offer on the trade market.
So they're left with the draft... and we all know how that went over the past few years... |
