no kidding....

and that all started with the 2003 draft.
if they pick a center (because they've been looking for one for ever) Carter was available, Getzlaf too... anyway, if they pick a center instead of AK46, they don't need to trade for Gomez years later and they keep McDonough.

Drafting is hard.

There was no need to trade for Gomez in the universe

Not sure they'd be picking 12th if they'd had Carter or Getzlaf

This organization treats the center position as inconsequential. They're not interested.

Not sure how Timmins still has a job. Hasn't made a good pick since Gallagher in 2010. Big reason why this team is the league's worst.
- DoubleDown

It might be time to let the whole scouting staff go. Go back 10 years and count how many players the habs have drafted that have actually amounted to anything in the NHL. Few and far between.

Other than teams that consistently draft in the top 5 for a few years in a row, I would guess it is all relatively somewhat the same across the board... there are some exceptions like Detroit.

Not a (frank)ing chance. Everyone gets a pass this year because of the Price injury.

Which is bizarre cause every Stanley cup champion has an elite #1 centre. Teows, kopitar, Bergeron, Crosby, datsyuk etc

Well the worst they do the easier the pick will be to make. all they have to do is check the TSN list.

That's sad but I'm sure it's true. This should show you the glaring holes elite goaltending covers up. But they probably think that if Roy can steal a Stanley cup, so can price.

Come on. You're not holding guys like McGinn and Larsson off the scoresheet all night.
- DoubleDown

I'll give you Larsson, but to be fair McGinn is have a great season.

Maybe now, but during their cup run Bergeron was pretty solid was he not? Better then any centre that have played for the habs in quite some time.
