A responsible GM would look at the big picture. With or without Price, this team isn't winning the Stanley Cup. I know it looks bad to your fans that you are giving up with 2 months to go, but its just not going to happen this year. Cut your losses, and let him go have the surgery and start fresh next season.

this is part of his recovery, they are taking it very slow because he is not 100%. They will shut him down pretty soon IMO, most likely minor surgery by the trade deadline.

The moment he gets the surgery, he's out for the rest of the season. Wether the surgery takes place in December or March, same thing.

So why not wait 8 weeks to see if he can recover and come back without an operation?!?
If he can, good! If he can't, he has surgery in March.
