im starting to think that this is a war of attrition between Bergevin and Therrien and that they actually despise each other. Bergevin won't give Therrien any help in hopes that he will eventually have a complete break down and quit, foregoing his additional 3 years of salary.

I think they're tight, that MB realizes he didn't provide the 2 top 6 forwards who were missing last year.
They know what do to, they just cannot do it because no other GM wants our scrap, so they cannot make trades. Soon they will be in selling mode, that may change things a bit.

well then you have to bring in a new GM. if after 4 years on the job Bergevin doesn't have much to trade with, that's his fault. other teams find great players outside of the top 10 in the draft. Montreal stopped doing this after Gallagher in 2010.
