You would think that in order to be thought of as a true contender (if he was sold that), then they'd have to be able to play at least close to .500 without Price.

I agree. It wasn't that long ago that a tailspin was blamed on Markov being hurt and the team was completely flipped when they missed the POs. Price's injury shouldn't save anyone's job

after Price was hurt the second time and they started to lose terribly, immediately, it would have made sense. At this point it all a moot point.

EDIT* I think its clear that MacCarron, Carr, Byron, Ghetto and Hudon all have the potential to fill top 6 roles, but playing them right now on 3rd and 4th lines doesnt look good for them. At least in my opinion.
