He really hasn't been practising. He's skating around but hasn't been healed enough to wear his pads. Time has run out and he's basically just staying in shape IMO and following through with his rehab, regardless of the schedule.

I think they really want him to come back this season, without an operation.
But if they're out of the playoffs by the time he's ready, he'll have surgery and be back next September.

I was referring to management/coaching. The Price injury pretty well sealed that.

I think when the boos get really loud the owner will start hearing them.

pretty sure he's heard more than enough already, whether he weighs Prices injury as heavily as some will decide what kind of owner he'll be.

Cyberhabs - I partly agree only. The big problem with the team turning poopty so fast & being in a high pressure market is that other GMs are going to try and fleece you because they know your team is desperate. Bergevin doesn't wanna get fleeced.

Start over with some UFAs, and if you cannot sign any, play the kids next year and draft early again.

He may also think that he is more likely to get an impact player in the draft. While it is frustrating that he hasn't done anything, other teams see MTL coming for a mile away. poop position to be in but it is what it is.

I hear ya. But up until recently the Habs were so comfortably in the playoffs they had to coast at like .450 the rest of the season. Bergevin was looking to add and other GMs were probably asking for prospects and draft picks. No one wants Markov or Plekanec.

DAL, FLA, WASH could all be interested in Markov for the playoffs.

Plek for Bickell and a pick. Or to VAN for Vrbata. Or to NASH for a pick....
