I agree. It was more of a shot aimed at Vantel.
I won't listen to 1040 anymore. Terrible.
Why fire anyone? JB and crew are doing the job most people want to see. Last season they touted change but it's this season that they are actually doing what they promised. - bloatedmosquito
msm, always over blowing any issue and demanding someone's job.
Just looking for Canuck news, the all star break is really dry, and we are now waiting for tdl...
lol, thought it was a Vantel shot. (for keeping it playful.) |

As much as Schultz is a big disappointment, Edm isn't going to do us a favor in moving a pending RFA for a pending UFA and a late pick.
I would also support going after Schultz but don't think he could be had for that little. - belcherbd
he will be a ufa in the summer there is no way edmonton will offer him a qualifying offer |

I wouldnt give up anything for him other than another cap dump/UFA. I wouldnt give up any prospect for him at all. I would offer him a low contract in the summer, he might be alot better on the 3rd pairing and 1st PP type like Krug in boston type. - mauryballstein

UFA or RFA ?
I would take a chance to sign him to a low cost, show me contract, but similar to above posters, i would not trade any assets for him.
If he is a UFA, I would swap Weber for Schultz in the offseason (can't afford him as it stands right now).
Weber might be a decent fit in Edm actually. |

I know, so why would Edm do us the favor of giving us a free look prior to then. Weber and a 6th isn't a big enough incentive to help out a divisional rival.
Regardless, I think they player is a chance if you can get him cheap through a trade or off season signing. |

I don't think Shultz is really much of an upgrade on Weber. He was basically thrown to the wolves in Edmonton and the Canucks current D core is not going to help him along any more then Edmonton's did. If we had a very solid top 5 already it might be worth the risk but he won't have enough support to be successful in Vancouver. |

was listening to 1040 a bit and the whining from Sekeres was driving me mad. everyone wants to see someone fired.
Carol always provides balance and perspective.

Might be a good fit as in their defense is awful and he would fit right in? |

Its actually my biggest fear that JB as per FA start adding rental players at the deadline. This team is one of the worst in the league adding a couple players like Ladd or Erickson(if the rumours are true) is going to do nothing but make our team worse in the long run. - mauryballstein
Agreed. Adding Erikson to compliment the Sedin's was a great idea 5 years ago. Awful idea today. |

Can't remember who it was trying to tell me Gaunce was a center, but I thought I'd share this as it is also a good article
http://www.sportsnet.ca/h...-prospect-report-january/ - neem55
Why has this become so confusing??? Drafted as center, converted to wing, because of injuries/call ups of others played center for a couple of games this season ... can we please pay attention ... |

I've been wondering the same thing...the Gaunce positional question gets brought up weekly by regular posters. He was converted to wing as Green like him better there. |

You're right, it's not confusing Gaunce has played wing his entire pro career until this year and played wing and center in junior before that. |
