Okay, then what makes it so wacky?
- MJL

If I said my own expectations of this being a minor injury, expected to go back in and play after the initial xray were negative, then changing it to not a facial injury but the mysterious lower body injury, then day to day to LTIR, could you accept that?

I think the degree of cover up mystery with these injuries is pretty silly, and then you hear he could play tonight, then day to day, then LTIR... well it seems just a little strange at least.

Not realistic. Looking at something like 1.5 to 1.75M for Raffl

If he doesn't play the pk for whatever reason I'd rather go sign a UFA that will. That's my issue with him

The sad part is he will grow up to be a poutine eating, ole-ole! chanting, Montreal typical mother (frank)er just like the rest of them. I bet he's already telling his mom bullpoop, unrealistic trade proposals for Wayne Simmonds

It looks like it's just the three of them. Mexico bachelor vacation. Besides Coots may be needing to see team doctors and stuff.

Couturier is not on LTIR, he's on the IR, which is retroactive. The team never reported it as a facial injury, Pannacio did. I don't think a cover up exists, other than a policy that the team has that they are only going to give certain information out. My previous post gave an example of how an injury can progress. I'm not in the medical field, but experience as a fan of the sport, I know that initial prognosis can change, especially with some injuries where feedback from the player is a factor.

Raffl is capable of playing on the PK, so if you have an issue with that, it's with the coaching staff. Why sign a UFA when you have a good player under your control as an RFA? Doesn't makes sense.

I should take what is reported with a grain of salt I guess. I have no argument with the rest of it. Just saying my (emphasis on my) perception was the injury was a nothing, and it has turned out to be more significant.

I give Tim more credit then some posters here.
I did meet him at the first buzzgate and he was very nice, friendly, engaging. We talked a bit. I had a bottle of Italian wine from Piedmont Italy and offered him a glass. He turned it down saying he never drinks when he has to work (it was a before the game tailgate). So I don't buy into all the stuff I read about him being a lush, etc.

I had the perception that Couturier would be ready to play after this weekend. That can happen with injuries.

I don't care about any of that. I just know from reading his work, he's a very poor reporter. I don't see how a bad report by a journalist on a players injury, should reflect on the team.

I don't recognize him as anyone in the team. It isn't Manning. My guess is it's just a random vacationing "bro" they added to their squad to more effectively club hop and pick up women.

What do you guys think Gudas 's value would be? He is a cheap rental and has been playing pretty well in top 4 minutes. He is a righty. I'd think I'd rather keep him as he brings some needed toughness and a right hander, but wonder if as a trading deadline pick up he could bring a 2nd+4th round pick? Or even a late round 1st (which seems like a pipe dream).

Would you consider trading him?

- Marc D

Good question. Personally I like having a guy that adds a much needed physical presence to the blue line. He's expendable, but if he weren't dealt I wouldn't be mad.

that's a rhetorical question.

Yup, just another day at the Flyers medical offices:

day 1: Sean Couturier is taking a maintenance day

day 2: Sean Couturier is out with an LBI

day 5: Sean Couturier is going on IR, however we don't think it's serious and we consider him day to day

day 10: Funeral services for Sean Couturier will be announced tomorrow.
