Is the rule that you can use your Equipment Manager as your emergency goalie still is use? Only in the NHL - KINGKENZO
They're probably calling Jay Rosehill right now: "hey Jay, got good news and bad news for ya. The good news is we're signing you to an NHL deal and calling you up for the Caps game. The bad news is that you're playing goal."

There are rules, I forget the exact wording, which covers emergency goalies. I beileve they can sign a guy to a PTO prior to the game, but once the game has started they'd have to use a skater
Right now Tampa and NJ hold the wildcard spots. If they both win and Flyers lose they will be 10 pts behind Tampa and 9 behind NJ. Not to mention other teams they have to jump.
I know they have games in hand.
Trade deadline is Feb 29. If they are double digit pts about a week or two before the trade deadline, then I see no reason to be more a seller and look towards the future and draft. Not the playoffs. - J35Bacher
I agree, at some point a decision needs to be made. That point in time is fast approaching. If this losing streak extends much farther, that's pretty much it, if it's not already there.

He's actually still a -1 technically. After he beat up Kodie Curran, Morin took his lunch money and a +1 from Curran.

You know what I miss.
I know fighting has been taken out a little but man do the Flyers seem soft. Wednesday the caps will have guys like Wilson, Richards, Orlov running around and the Flyers really have none of their own.
I would love to have guys like Morin or Goulborne in the lineup. Not just to fight but to throw some weight around on the forecheck. The Flyers used to seem to bring out their best when they played in a controlled chaos type of way.

I'd rather have two #1 centers like Kuz and Backstrom

I think Hextall will be very busy gauging interest at the All-Star game. I also think he will be busy at the TDL. I could see minor deals where maybe a guy like Bellemare is moved to a playoff team. I could see Medvedev moved.
Might not get much back but late round picks or maybe low level prospect. Kind of how the Ducks got Pat Maroon for Dany Syvret.

We were talking about this last night at my game... Its crazy how close everyone in the league is right now. We are closer (points wise) to the last spot in the league than we are a playoff spot (as of today).
Say the wildcard spot requires 96 points (lower than last year) and we have 35 games remaining... we need to win around 23 games...

Haha, ok, at least they corrected that. It would be like running out of pitchers and being able to use the batboy

They really need morin to develop into that big nasty. Having a guy like that be the backbone to the team will give them swagger. Goulbourne I think has a real chance to be a 4th line piece. He is fast, can forecheck, and can throw them. So I have to agree here.
Honestly goulbourne has a better shot at the NHL than guys like cousins, weal
This is just my specualtion, but is there any chance Giroux takes an injury break for the ASG and gets replaced by Voracek? I feel like G could use the rest more than Jake.

The Mike Richards we will see will not be the Mike Richards from 07/08, or even the Mike Richards from 10/11. He played like he was 3 inches and 25 pounds heavier than he was, and it (plus possibly other factors) has taken its toll on his body.
This team should, of course, keep trying to win games, because a roster that intentionally tanks is so lacking in character and competitiveness that it will never become a winner.
That said, this team is not going to make the payoffs. Any way you slice it:
1. Bottom dwellers in scoring, power play, and penalty killing play golf, not hockey, in April.
2. Look at the teams ahead of Philly in the standings and decide which 5 are going to fall off so badly that a team with 2 fourth lines can pass them.
3. Radko Gudas is on our top pairing
Sell at the deadline, bring up the kids, and see what you've got.

Goulborune is a "safe" guy, as he basically is what he is and likely will never be more than a 4th line "energy" type who provides minimal offense. Cousins and Weal are guys who have a higher ceiling offensively, but are more boom or bust types.
