I don't. Just not sure if we need to "let him develop" despite being the best candidate for the job.

I meant why throw him in when the team is in a big down-swing against the on-fire Caps?

Very close, it was 12 against Chicago back in '69. I had not yet blessed this fine earth yet.

I was alive but too young to be a fan. I became a fan in the spring of '73.

Because I don't want Jason "I'm a kind of okay AHL goalie with a funny last name" Labarbera playing when Stolarz has been better.

I just said he isn't different, that all coaches have biases. Maybe I wasn't clear.

Also, is a restricted free agent not a free agent? I understand they're not UFAs, but the Flyers still need to figure out if they can be part of the NHL solution going forward so they can decide whether or not to tender/resign them.

I don't feeling playing Cousins in place of Umberger/VdV/White or Alt in place of Manning/Schultz would change their playoff hopes drastically for the worse.

Lastly, I don't know how much longer you want a 22-year-old and a 24-year-old to develop. They've both played roughly 2 1/2 seasons worth of AHL hockey, I'd like to think they maybe be able to play 10 minutes of NHL hockey.

- jmatchett383

The Flyers will make qualifying offers to both player, barring a trade between now and then. My focus is the same as Hextall's. Do what is best for those players, not for this team, this season.

And I don't think anyone stated that we lost last night's game solely because of Umberger (unless I missed something) so I didn't see why you thought it necessary to refute the idea.
- jmatchett383

There has been and will continue to be a distinct focus on Umberger, and he will be a dominant topic today, as he has been for how long now?

If they're going to tender them both (or outright resign them), might it be best to give them at least a short cup of coffee to see what they can do at the NHL level.

Then again, we all know that 6-8 NHL games would cripple their development and render them useless, so never mind, it's the worst idea since Nazism.

- jmatchett383

It's all about what is best for those players, the timing, and where the Flyers are in the season, . As I've stated multiple times, the Flyers are not ready to give up chasing the playoffs.

I don't feel like dragging this out any further, because I'm sick of your holier-than-thou attitude. In the future, I would appreciate it if you would refrain from replying to and tainting my posts further than I taint them, and I will do the same to yours. Thank you very much.

I'd prefer playoffs but I'll gladly take
a bottom 10 finish to give ourselves the best shot at a top 3 pick.

With the new format. Draft lottery tonight will be must watch tv

You don't know from old. When I started watching hockey, All I could get on TV was a Ranger game on Sat. nites ( and I grew up just across the river from Philly)

Back when I was young, we had to walk up a small hill, one way, and all we had to play with were plastic toys and video games.

I agree. Austin and Keith's boy are unrealistic, but I'd love to land one of the Finns

First game I've been able to watch in a few weeks. 4th line looked flat and got waaaaay too many minutes. Ghost looks like his play reading ability is is rapidly developing. He's been an absolute pleasant surprise.

I agree and think your correct on both accounts. I guess its possible hextall doesn't feel they are nhl players; hope nto but you never know.

Even if it does alter their playoff chances it isn't about this year is it? Its about the "plan".

Well, in my defense I was only 4 in 1969, so my memory is suspect. And no, the massive scotch consumption has nothing to do with it!

The Laughton line all got less than 10 minutes. So you must mean the other 4th line.
