Another one that has me excited is McLeod. He has skating that is off the charts. I read a scout comparing him to McDavid's skating, if a tick down. It's that good. He's awesome 2 way, and never has an invisible shift. Does all the little things, provides structure. Sort of like Coots (and Umberger) in that regard. Coots with (frank)ing McDavid wheels.
Dubois I like hearing about his versatility and all around play. Skating could be better I've read. But he could be a do everything forward WITH size.
Keller could be a steal that gets underrated bc of size. He's putting up crazy numbers on US develoment team. He's very young for his age, and is putting up numbers Eichel and Matthews did. Age difference between when they did it, but not much. He's a late summer birthday. - Mononoke
McLeod also has decent size. I do think Dubois could be the sleeper that goes higher than everyone thought.

Both are very, very good. Dubois also doesn't turn 18 until July I believe. He's a scary good versatile player for his age.

If we ended up with Matthews or Laine, I'd be elated - BiggE
Yes and no.....yes because their acceptional ...no because that means a frustrating post all star break.
But that's my point. I get that depth and top-tier talent don't go hand-in-hand, but some people had him going 3rd last year above Hanifin as well as Marner/Strome. So if he'd be 5th/6th this year, that actually make this year's top-end better than last year's (as it was, 7th isn't far off). Then you had guys like Crouse/Barzal/Rantanen who were anywhere from top-8 to top-20, which is exactly what this year seems like...again.
I don't mean to complain, I'm just waiting for the year where the gurus come out and say, "You know what...outside of the top-3, this draft is really weak."

Dubois is one of my favorites.
Another one is Jost. He's committed to UND, so Hakstol is no stranger to him. He doesn't play in CHL but lower league. He's putting up monster, record breaking numbers I believe. Center with amazing speed and a two way game. Super skilled 1 on 1 and in creativity. He's a player that if he was in the CHL might go much much higher.

Check out every round of 2009 draft. Wish granted. Some steals, but all in all pretty damn weak after the top.

I just want to know who all the experts will have the Flyers picking because he's HUGE and plays nasty and has offensive numbers that are below expectations.
Oh my god. Guys, guys, Flyers are reaching on Logan Stanley or Logan Brown. They even are both named Logan...like Wolverine. Man, Wolverine would be a great Flyer...
Laine has me maybe more excited than Matthews. It could be just Matthews has been bandied about a lot more and there's a tiredness to him. He will still probably go 1, and should, but Laine has monster goal and offensive potential. He could be 40 goal+ scary good. Can probably play all 3 positions, and is so smart and slick and big offensively. I'm trying to think of a comparable style, and I don't know. Tarasenko-Malkin hybrid? He's a young 17 and is dominating men in the Finnish league. He's DOUBLING the shots per game of recent top Finnish prospects. That's absurd. - Mononoke
His shooting percentage should fit in nicely with the rest of the Flyers then

He has the best shot in the draft. And as Tomahawk would say, the most underrated part about someone like Ovi is the sheer number of shots he gets off. His career shooting percent is actually only ok for the best goal scorer of his generation. Hell it's only 1% above Giroux. He just takes so many (frank)ing shots though. It's a skill in and of itself: the ability to just pound shots on net, especially in an age where shots are hard to come by, and when everyone knows it's coming.
