Without Couturier, it's likely a loss no matter who plays goalie - PhillySportsGuy
I know. I'm just not a fan of Labarbera. |

you can always try something. whether it works we have no idea. - rinaldo
I get you.
I would like to see Raffl kill penalties. I thought him and Bellemare were effective.
I think Lappy and Mullen could be gone after this season. I think the PP has become stagnate and predictable. |

I know we all have our feelings on Schultz but man Streit seems very hesitant since coming back from surgery. Even when he gets time on the PP he hesitates to shoot. Also seems slow in making decisions during 5 v5 play. |

Not sure I want him getting shelled by the Caps. No Couturier in the lineup and the Caps power play against the Flyers PK is a disaster waiting to happen. - PhillySportsGuy
If he's too weak minded to get over it he was never meant to be...
Besides im sure he's used to getting shelled with how bad the Phantoms were last year. Whenever the opportunity presents itself i would bring him up (although sounds like Neuvy can go so this is all moot). |

So with the talk last week that his jaw was the issue, safe to assume concussion? - Scoob

I think all the assistants contracts are up. I understood with them staying since Hakstol was new. But I would think he has an idea of coaches he might like in the offseason. |

Relying on a report from Timmy P is never safe.
If it was a head injury why wouldn't the Flyers call it an upper body injury? - Feanor
Honestly I do not know what they're calling it. Is it LBI? |

If CBJ, Edmonton and Toronto can have the 13th, 15th and 16th best PK units with their roster issues, there's no good reason the Flyers should be 26th.

Time for Hextall to wield the axe.

Flyers GM Ron Hextall announced during the team’s morning skate in Pittsburgh that center Sean Couturier will not play tonight vs. Penguins due to a lower-body injury.
This is the seventh game Couturier will miss due to injury this season, but first missed game in nearly three months. He missed six games from Oct. 24 to Nov. 3 with an upper-body injury. |

And I do think you'll see changes.
I do remember reading something where Hakstol wanted to bring his assistant from ND but he took the head coaching job there.
I wouldn't mind seeing them dip into a coach from juniors as an assistant. As the roster gets younger I want someone who can help with that. Alos maybe brings fresh ideas.
I would do that and pair it with maybe a vet assistant coach. try to have a good balance.

His possession numbers are much better than they were in the first part of the season. |

Anaheim waives Adam Clendening - Jsaquella
I'd take a chance.
I would almost be ok checking in on all waiver guys that could fill in better then White, Umberger or Vandevelde. |

He's a defenseman, kind of a road jam there. Not sure he's better than anyone currently playing |

I am sorry.
I was thinking of the other Clendening.
But I would look at all forward waiver guys. I would have taken a chance on Kassian and replaced vandevelde on the 4th line |

There's a few I would have claimed. I would have considered Kassian, even with the off ice issues.
But the Pens top four has Lovejoy, Dumolin & Cole....and they traded Clendening |

I wanted them to claim Joakim Andersson who Detroit just waived and demoted.

I am just so tired of seeing vandevelde, white and umberger. I understand what people say about them but I would have rather Kassian over Vandevelde.
I would have tried Kassian, Tikhonov and Gormley. |
