I am enjoying the streak but I don't want the club to lose focus. It is not Vrbata ar Hamhuis's play that has got us to where we are. It is the goalies the Sedins Hansen and the kids. We still need to try to get assets for those two expiring contracts. Remember Vrbata sucked in the playoffs last year when the game amped up.

As bad as our D has been made out , we have been in most games competing to the end. Hutton and Sbisa are finding some chemistry and Hutton has been making progress. Bart and Biega have been ok.

Don't get sucked into this fantasy that we are going deep. Just keep on improving and keep bringing in high talent youngsters.

Take that cap space of Vrbata Burrows and Hamhuis and get a high end player

Agreed, if there is playoff experience or race to be had, I would want the young guys like Horvat, Bae, Vey and Etem who are all young but not rookies to be the ones making the push, not Vrbata/Prust/Cracknell

I Honestly don't see the team getting rid of burrows. He will take a hometown discount to stay here I guarantee that.

And burrows you can say is helping us win.

Dont get me wrong here I would like to see burrows moved for a pick but at this point and what he means to the team, its becoming unlikely.

Burrows can be traded in the off season or bought out, he ups his game in the playoffs.

Miller if you can get a second or better there are plenty of back ups this year in the UFA

Let's assume Stamkos does make it to Free Agency , and you either keep Burrows or get his cap money by buying him out, it would be a no brainer for me. If Benning needs money to go after someone he likes, I think he might.

I hope Hamhuis does come back soon so everyone can be reminded how slow he has gotten.

Hes from montreal not here.

Most people want a pick for him but I think teams need to dump salary to take salary on so if hes traded for a decent D man I'd be OK with that.

But I love his playoffs, id still hesitate due to that. Sometimes things do need to happen however.

I am hoping Hammer gets better and is well rested and comes back and plays lights out. Has a point every game (of course we lose every game but hammer is + in +/-). Some desperate GM calls Benning and offers 2 1st rounds picks for Hammer and JB says don't bother sending your private jet, we will drop him off in our private jet.

I suspect Burrows has no trade value. Miller has trade value but there is zero chance he is moved

Burrows work ethic is a thing of beauty. His devotion for the team is fantastic.

His foot speed is terrible.

A couple of weeks back we were getting our asses handed to us . We had Higgins playing second line. Our PK struggled . We replace him our tem improved.

Weber out muscled out skated out played every game. We improved.

Prust slow play . Replaced we improved.

Every time we replace these pieces we improve.

Do you keep burrows or take the to 6 forward?

It depends on what he does over the next 35 games but buy him out.

With that contract he would have to play like Baertchi for the rest of the year. I'd love for Benning to trade Hansen as he is likely over valued at the moment. Solid third liner playing like a top 6 all year

I like Burrows as he is a heart and soul guy who works his ass off but he has been pretty brutal for awhile. Next to Prust he is probably the slowest player on the team

Thats why I said ....but somethings need to happen. In answer to your question I'd say either will be a win win. I think we'd be further ahead to trade him for a defenseman as thats our dying need right now....not in 2 years, but now. We have enough forward prospects to keep us going for a few years.

I think the only reason weber is still here is hes a sizable chunk of the offense on D. No other reason. 1 skill only. Problem is offensive Dmen are expensive.

I feel larger Dmen will allow the offensive partner to pinch in more. Probably the best way to go ....guys like pedan etc.

tryamkin if hes here could also provide that offense as well.

don't get me wrong, would love to see burrows go .. but the guy is toxic ... contract and rep with league and refs makes him almost impossible to move via trade ...

He has a toxic contract if he is scoring 8 goals a year . He has a decent contract if he is scoring 18 goals a year.

His actual salary is 3 mil next year . If you could get Canucks to swallow that 1.5 cap hit then it becomes a better looking deal .

I suspect a few teams would offer a second round pic for Miller but I can't envision a scenario where he is moved. I believe he has a NTC (or limited) and he will only choose a team close to his wife. LA and ANA would have no interest. I'm sure SJ would be interested but Benning can't trade his No 1 goalie to their cheif in-division rival to make the playoffs. As much as well all want to load up on pics let's enjoy the solid goaltending tandem we have this year. Prust, Hanhuis, Vrbaata and Hansen...move 3 of the 4 asap

If we actually bought out Burrows in the Summer it would be a million cap hit for two years only. We would save 3.5 in cap space next year. Almost the same as Higgins

You have really high hopes on a smooth transition for Tryamkin. The guy has 28 points in 180 career games in the KHL, including only 11 in 45 this year. He still is considered a project prospect by most, even after his Spengler Cup performance, so for people to pencil him into the lineup within the next 2 years I think is ambitious

Yup . 1 mill cap hit in 2017 and 1 mil in 2018. I think it is a no brainer.

The 2017 cap hit will be 2.5mil and 1mil in 2018, still worth the savings.

No it's showing 2 mil savings on the 3 mil cap hit. That is why it says -2.000,000 on 2017 and + 1 difference on 2018.

The buy out is always just 2/3 of the remaining contract spread out evenly over the years
