I think there's no contest. Larkin had a head start, is a center, and is the media darling.
Adore Gost, myself. - bodiva88
Larkin is a winger. |

Allan Walsh represents Petr Straka.
He may represent (not sure if directly, but they are definitely represented by his agency) Nick Cousins.....and RJ Umberger. Please RJ, pretty please with sugar on top, refuse to report |

It's a shame really. Everyone involved with the team then, for the most part, have said that Lindros was a good kid. His parents though, what a (frank)ing nightmare. I cannot even imagine being a grown man playing professional sports, and having my mommy and daddy calling the GM to demand how I should be used and who I should play with.

Better then mommy and daddy being your financial advisors and stealing your money. See Jack Johnson. |

Statement from Allan Walsh Re: Jonathon Drouin's suspension
- ob18
This is the dumbest reason not play anywhere or any time. It's Drouin's job to play where he is told to play. Awful career move. |

Some of the stories you hear about them sending in game tapes and angry emails during games. It's crazy. |

Or just being Rinaldo's parents - Mononoke
You know, I'd be okay being his father. I'd be in his ear about the stupid penalties and dangerous hits. I'd also be helping him put away his money and arranging for him to be comfortable doing whatever he wants for the rest of his life.
He's an NHL player, has been and will be for a while yet. A ton of hard work and sacrifice goes into that. Seems to be a great guy off the ice from all reports. There's a lot to be proud of there stepping back and looking at it like a parent would. |

2 goals and an assist in 7 AHL games for Drouin. Not exactly dominating. |

I don't know. I do know one thing, not sure who is calling the shots here, but if it is Walsh, he is not operating in his clients best interests. The trade demand in the first place shouldn't have been made public. He should advise his client to show up and play hard, and force the Lightning to recall him, and show that he belongs in the NHL. Doesn't seem like that is happening. This kid is not entitled to anything except what is in his contract. It's not as if he is Eric Lindros, or a Sydney Crosby level player. The league, and the Lightning cannot allow Walsh and Drouin to dictate what happens.

I'm thinking he thinks he is. agreed about his agent. I thing a good many aren't acting in the best interest of their clients but that's me. I'm pretty sure Drouin had the 2 in his first game.
EDIT: yup

The thing is, Walsh has used similar tactics in the past. I'm sure that Drouin said I don't want to be here & get me out of Tampa, and the agent's going public and now he's going nuclear.
If I'm Yzerman I tell him that we're not making a deal until he returns to play, because by leaving the team he has hurt his trade value. If he doesn't return, then make him wait until summer. They can probably get more for him at the draft than they can right now anyhow |

If I was Drouin right now, under these circumstances, I'd go home and wait for a trade. Skate, work out and keep busy.
I think coming back to play in the Tampa organization gets you nothing now. That ship has sailed. Why should he go and chance a career ending injury for a club that's made it clear they don't want him and who he has no plans on playing for long term. |
