The video looks bad.

WTF you would think the fans would have gone silent once they saw the concern on the players on BOTH teams. (frank)ing idiots cheering that after the first 5 seconds once they realized he was out cold

Hakstol clearly looked out from the bench motioning if the players wanted a timeout. He even asked Gord Murphy if he thought one was needed. Not taking a timeout is not the reason they were scored on. The faceoff was lost, and Toronto got a good bounce. Calling a timeout give the opposition a chance to get organized and diagram a play. Unless the players are gassed, which they weren't, I prefer not calling a timeout. Couturier is a pro athlete and is in good shape. He handles that icetime on a regular basis.

Maybe Hakstol just doesn't know what he's doing, right?

- MJL

He knows a lot more then you and I that's for sure.
I think he is a good coach.
I noticed he doesn't use his timeouts often. We don't know for sure if the players are gassed or not. We played catch up hockey, stuck in our D zone for 45min last night, that will drain your energy level for sure. Anyways, all i'm saying maybe the timeout would've been useful maybe it wouldn't have change the outcome at all. Impossible to predict the outcome. That Toronto play was a routine/set play. I don't see how it would benefit the maple leafs at all.

Any of you worried Larkin will get the rookie of the year over ghost? I want so bad for both Ghost and Coots to win hardware.

I don't always trust those listings because they can be dated or inflated.

That they are.

I just hope they get nominated. Larkin deserves it. Then there's Panarin who is co-favorite. McDavid could make a monster late push. So could Eichel. Coots, again, I just hope gets nominated. It's hard to argue Bergeron winning again. Coots has a case to be in contention.

Yeah, it's disgraceful. I'd say it's minor league fans on $5 tickets but I've seen it in Suites at the arena.

I don't think Gostisbehere has a shot. He's actually getting more media attention than I thought he would but Larkin is the darling of the rookie set now that McDavid is out.

Just look at Gostisbehere! He's at a disadvantage in some situations, but he's not timid, nor is he getting pushed around. He battles.
- MJL

Actually I do feel Ghost gets pushed around but he's able to over come with his skating. His skating and slick puck movement definitely works to his advantage.

What's interesting is, nobody in Detroit thought Larkin had a chance of making the team this year. Anthony Mantha is the guy Detroit has sworn by but Mantha hasn't gotten over the hump yet.

According to Pannacio, Couturier was injured in the Toronto game, and may not play tomorrow night. When did that happen, going back to the locker room after the final horn?

Hakstol called it a maintenance day. So who knows -- he may play. I don't remember anything where he got hurt either. What a turn of events if Coots is the one who sits for Weal!

Selke...awarded to the best defensive player with the most points

*NOTE Selke can be used interchangeably with Norris*

Schultz > Karlsson

We agree. Now if Patrick Kane wins the Selke, I think something is up.

Understatement of the season right there folks, where "you and I" means "all of us."

I think there's no contest. Larkin had a head start, is a center, and is the media darling.

Adore Gost, myself.

This was the second thing.

But seriously, Couturier is one of the two or three guys they simply can't replace
