Bastion? Ok.
I am however smart enough to know that Aussie should have used "There are" instead of "There's". Hahaha

I've found that the Canadians on this board act in the same jingoistic way and talk down to us Americans the same way that Americans are stereotypically portrayed. Ain't mad, just think its funny. Guess hockey brings it out in them |

Yes plural. Although that is a slang way of putting what I said in my head down in writing, although in my defence 'sources' being portrayed as a 'singular' entity as it was always written in the article as 'source'. But yes, bad English - who weren't a bad rock band either! |

“Contrary to a media report regarding the potential sale of the Pittsburgh Penguins, there is no disagreement between us and we remain completely aligned in both approach and philosophy. We continue to explore all of our strategic options, including a possible sale.
DK addressed the NY post. It's complete BS |

There’s zero rift between Lemieux and Burkle. There never has been. I doubt there ever will be. I know both men. I trust both men. I know how they feel, on this, on the sale and on other matters. There’s no issue between them. If you don’t believe me on this, feel free to never believe another syllable I write. I’m convinced of this completely.
Also said this about 66 and burkle relationship |

I just want to say something, and please dont chop my head off. But I am just thinking outside the box for a second. Is it possible that HCMJ saw how inept this offense was last year, combined with injuries, adopted his style of hockey to adjust for the playoffs, which almost worked I might add (WE WERE IN EVERY GAME), and just carried it over to this year. I know it seems crazy to think about but, these guys really can not score at all. If your team can not score, the next best thing is to adopt a system that atleast allows you to be competitive, is it not? Is it possible HCMJ saw the writing on the wall for this team, and everybody else is just fooled? |

If fabbri or Dumba can get Drouin then Pouliot can easily do it.
Time for them to send Kuhn and porter down and bring sunds and Simon up. See what these kids can do until Bennett returns.
Hopefully with kuni keeps his trade value up bc Perron sucks and isn't going to get us a pick or player back. |

But I know Dumba is a more valued player than Pouliot. And TBL wants a RHD anyway. IDK about Fabbri that much. His stats aren't that great but I'm not familiar with his usage at all.
Perron and Kunitz could both get a decent pick. Nothing great though. Hornqvist would get good value in a deal. |

I think MJ's conservative system had much more to do with protecting a questionable defense this year. I don't proclaim to know all of the specific differences between MJ and MS, but It certainly seems they are now trying to play to the strengths of the roster instead of pandering to it's weaknesses.

It wasn't like Johnston was getting good results anyway. Pens would probably be in the exact same spot with him as coach still. |

I have no real evidence to back up this statement. But I think we'd be in even worse shape. They were playing like "dead men walking" the last couple of weeks under MJ. The difference in Sid's and Letang's game was damn near instant.
Every time I want to write off the season, I look at the standings and see 6 points separating us from 2nd place in the division. |

I completely agree...and I'm gonna toot my horn. I wanted MJ out last December and got ripped for the thought. He may be the nicest man on Earth but he was not what this team needed. We have plenty of time to right the ship and plenty of talent to make a run.

I'm just dreading a lunatic trade that sends Sprong, Pouliot, or both out for a rental like Ladd or Buff. |

Not sure it would be rental. Consider we would have to move out significant salary to even make room for somebody like Buf, which I have thought extensively about, and have not made up my mind one way or the other. Perron, Cole, and another piece (either draft pick or prospect, nothing terribly major) should get it done, no? This doesnt look all that bad for the foreseeable future:
Letang - Maatta
Byfuglien - Dumoulin
Daley - Pouliot |

Meh... I don't think he'll do that. I just don't. Like I said before, I think Ruth was stunned by the reaction to the Despres deal. He's said many times over that it was a mistake. He may trade Pouliot for a like kind player however. I don't think there's any chance he'll move Sprong. |

The other piece would have to be sizable to fit Buff into the lineup, and Winnipeg would be nuts to agree to those two.

I have ripped the man as much as the next person but given how terrible of a time this team has had scoring, is it possible he saw this and adjusted the best he could, thats all im saying. |

Interesting question... I honestly think that if we're going to be successful we need to sit tight and let our forwards break out of their slump. If they can't do that I don't think there's a trade that can help us but if they do I'm not sure a trade is nessisary. In an ideal world we flip DP for a young LW |

"I" don't think we should do anything but push on. If we suck at TDD I'm mixed, half of me wants to sell and the other wants to keep fighting. If I were pretend GM for half a season I'd motor on with this team. |
