I don't think he qualifies. He has played 30+ NHL games.

Sutter has played very well for us. We are looking forward to his return from long term injury.

We did try to warn you about Bonino . The guy is slow as molasses

They got an AHL Dman, a downgrade at a position and a 2nd that will most likely be used as part of a dead line deal.

I didnt particularly like Sutter, but Bonino sucks.

He costs less than half Sutter's extension and came with two future assets. You'd be complaining about losing out on another UFA if he stayed and left and i doubt you would approve of his extension either.

I'm starting to realize how inconsistsnt you are. You just like to tell people I told you so don't you? You can't complain about how we never recuperate assets on impending UFAs and waste our limited assets, and then complain about the assets we got for a mediocre player.

It's the New York Post. It's about as reliable as Eklund.

Never would have extended Sutter. You still could have moved him this year under his current deal for something at the dead line. Either way, Pens will probably looking for another 3C this year.

Kilnkhammer is my favorite current name in the NHL. He should be Norwegian, though.

Same here. Cliffbomb (sp) is another great name. Could you imagine having both of those guys on the same team?!?!. Add douglas "crankshaft" murray to that line and it would be the ultimate bad @ss name line

Fehr has been fine, but he is nothing special, every team has 2-3 of those types.

No they couldn't. He has been injured for most of the season from a hernia injury that was pre-existing.
Also, few teams can fit his cap hit or exchange salary in-season.

And Sutter is nothing special either. We turned one expensive nothing special into two cheap nothing specials. You always gage moves on this weird binary scale of did it single handily turn the Penguins around or not. That's not how things work...

The Sutter deal is still a positive even if it hasn't quite worked the way you expected.

Only Vancouver fans would be proclaiming victory in a trade with a guy that has played 16 games for them.

I feel that way about both Sutter deals when you take into account salaries. Can't look past UFA status of Staal and Sutter when considering those deals.

You're right, its better to have a mediocre 3rd line center for 1 year and let him walk for nothing than it is to have Bonino, Fehr, Clendening, and moving our pick up to the 2nd round.

sutter for bonino fehr and a 2nd looked like a great trade. Sucks Fehr/Bonino haven't been as good as we hoped but still a huge win especially since we grabbed a 2nd.
