Great game by the Blues. Outshot by a bunch, a tad tired looking, but they took it to the Kings. The celebration after Brouwer's goal showed this win meant a lot. This is the Blues team everyone expects come April every year.

Wish Pearson had buried one of his many chances, but oh well. Doubt anything will come of McNabb's hit.

I think the only thing that may happen could be the NHL rescinding the game misconduct.

Wonder if anybody is still thinking we should trade Pietrangelo? Played over 60 minutes in 24 hours while scoring 2 points and +2 in two of the hardest fought games the team has played this year. No way do we get points in either of the last two games without him in the lineup.

Sounds like Stastny will be back shortly but I'm a bit worried about the other guys. Luckily the schedule is pretty light this week.

i think he just had a a bad game, a few mistakes, no one scoring, no one defending and it looked like the blues were heading bad.

it is amazing what happens when he gets his shot on goal.

you know i have defended him time and time again, you see crap play and you think maybe you are wrong and the others were right.

he was great. he still has another gear i think.

with those meatheads at player SAFETY, i thnk you are right.

i will say this much, he had made the decision, there was time for him not toaim his hip at his head as he fell. i know this because i played. he just has one program running in his head, hit, hit hit and hit. so in that regard it might have been the right call.

if justice is to be had lucic with his sordid history could get called out.

but you are responsible for what you do. it is not like he already was in motion swiveling the hip check and magnus's head happened to be there. that is the defining element of the play. he had time to change course or to not put his full impact into a guy's head as he is in a vulnerable position.

remember the rule was clarified a few seasons ago, in a vulnerable position....impact of the head is the principle contact....

the kings were great as well.

i wish tarasenko didn't happen to hit quick twice because he had him beat on a couple of shots. but quick looks better now than i have ever seen him and i have to say i do not like it....where was this quick at the olympics?

I think your question is: where was this Quick during the third place game? Because he was stellar in the semi-finals.

i thought he was decent but not his heroic self. the third place game he was left to the wolves and no one can blame him for that game. the team in front showed up but did not deem it necessary to play.

I do NOT want him traded. He is one of the few Blues not named Tarasenko to actually perform in the playoffs. No way he goes. Shattenkirk going, especially at the draft, is possible imho.

Agreed. As Jam said, he's one of the few guys to raise his game in the playoffs. Even though he is not a physical player he can play a big mans game because he has the size and he is so good at playing the puck. When he does get hit he pops right back up and it doesn't seem to affect his play at all.

i admit though for a second i thought it might not be the worst thing.

if he could get back his confidence in scoring that would be great. remember he scored what eleven goals in his second season?

he can score.

like jammer i can see shatty going only because of the cap. but if we get to summer and gas prices start going up i would hold off because then the cap will definitely go up when he would become a ufa.

parayko was doing more when shatty was out. i think this is what befell jones in nashville, parayko sees less ice, his role is not the same he produces less.

it is not overtly his physical game that concerns me it is around the net. often when we were giving up goals either him or jaybo failed at coverage in the house. it was happening a lot, relative to the few goals the blues give up.

sounds like binnington won't see a game.

I think you have to think about trading anyone but Tarasenko

Seriously this team needs help

I mean can we sneak in the playoffs as a WC or the #3 and do damage yes

but I think this team needs help

It's funny, since the Blues have been in this little funk of theirs, they really haven't damaged themselves much. They're about where they were. No one is running away with things.

With so many players on this roster under-performing for most of this season, I think the change I would be looking at making would be behind the bench.

Maybe three's a deal out there that improves the team, but more than anything, the talent that's here right now just needs to play better.

I agree for the most part but at the beginning of the year look at all the third and fourth line players on this team

Upshall
Gomez
Reaves
Ott
Paajarvi
Backes
Brouwer

With Captain Kangaroo these guys are getting top 6 minutes and the team is playing a slug it out game when you have players that can really play at a high level or the potential to play at a higher level stuck in the bottom 6

Fabbri
Jaskin

The team needs something

I would ideally like them to end up on the Pacific side of things but that would be a first round matchup with LA and we all know how that has gone in the past

Your brought up two of the best goalie coaches in the world, easily 2 of the top 5. I have had the pleasure of meeting Korn and seeing him teach in person. The guy is truly amazing. His innovative ability is unreal.

agreed. i had no idea mitch korn was the same korn i had been hearing about over the years. never put two and two together.

i knew in the nhl he was really good but man i had no idea just how good the man is.

of course as soon as trotz lost his job i thought the blues should hire him. same with the current preds coach. you would think armstrong would have learned that trick as it is how he got his current job.

korn is incredible all the time he puts into it. wish there were more as passinate as him.

i think ypu are correct. even with a slew of injuries this team is still one of the better one's in the league.

just when achieve super depth it appears there will be an expansion coming.

The Blues asked to speak to Korn before his contract was up as the Predators had already said they were moving on. The Predators wisely would not allow it. The Blues didn't want to wait and likely suspected he was following Trotz to DC and didn't want to wait and hired Corsi before Korn was even a free agent technically.

Trying to find the video of his latest crazy idea...can't seem to find it right now.

that is what i mean. we should have hired trotz back then and then got korn as a result.

could you imagine binnington and allen under korn?
