Meh -- it's semantics. They ate money on Grossmann to cover the real dollars owed to Pronger, that I can acknowledge, but it's not that simple because it ignores the fact that the Flyers had to take Gagner back and Arizona absolutely wanted Pronger for accounting dollars vs. actual payout

Just because Maloney can't say that they didn't value Grossmann at 3.5K for two more years doesn't mean that isn't how the deal shook out, because the Flyers did have to take Gagner back

The train has derailed here. What does that situation have to do with the Schultz contract? I still haven't seen a valid reason why it's a bad deal other than "I don't like it" and the could've signed him for one year.

I could go into it, but the board doesn't want to hear it or see it

Oh c'mon!

I think they shouldve just let him walk if he wanted more than 1 year, but I dont think it will be too bad of a contract to get out of next season

The pass on the Zucker goal just cant happen. He has been in a serious funk.

I cant believe I am saying this, but I dont like having G and Jake together right now. Neither think me first ever... and that results in way too many passed up opportunities

- jak521

which is exactly why i didn't think the pass to mdz in OT would yield a goal. i know there's a lot of open ice, but it was a high risk play in that tight for the pass to not connect, and potentially become a turnover with the 3rd wild player up high coming off the bench on a poorly timed change (which really allowed the goal to happen).

i hated the top line last night.

Too often, both Jake and Simmer were both on the right side. One of them has to realize that someone needs to play LW for the line to work.

Even if Sandanella gets a stick on it, he's not going to get instant possession. Del Zotto was pretty open.

FWIW:

On the Philadelphia Flyers …
•John Boruk: Flyers GM Ron Hextall has targeted the 2017-18 season since he made the Scott Hartnell trade. The Flyers only have $28 million committed for 2017-18, and that will be the year he leaves him imprint.

Just based off the topic we were discussing yesterday about when Hextall should be making a play for a big FA.

Looked at Fa list for 2017 and not really great choices. Some names but they are older guys like Datsyuk. Jamie Benn, Brad Marchand and Victor Hedman would be interesting guys but Benn and Hedman I can't see hitting the market.

If Stamkos hits the market I think I would take a chance.

So, today's argument is over Prongers injury classification? Really?

You guys don't get out much, do you?

Fascinating game tonight between Colorado and Nashville

Nashville is in danger of missing the playoffs, Rinne has a .907 SVPCT and is 32 years old, Weber is not getting any younger

David Poile has to be wondering if it's now or never
