Except Andrew MacDonald.

Not even Millbury would trade for him.

- jak521

Flyer at least have to eat half of his salary to trade him

I know what their cap situation is. Not sure why you're posting that link.

I saw a post that said "he is on IR" and you said he is not, and this says he is. I have back read further and saw that it started out by discussing LTIR and am promptly smearing yolk across my brow

IR is not the same thing as LTIR. The key is the two extra letters.

the post I saw him respond to and disagree on was indicating he was on IR, which was confirmed by my post. you're all welcome

So you are saying that the Coyotes had no interest in Pronger because of real dollars vs accounting dollars, because Maloney didn't come out and say, "yeah, with our attendance and revenues, we need help in balancing our sheet. Come on out and watch, though!"
- AllInForFlyers

What I'm saying is the Coyotes saw value in Grossmann, because defensive dmen on short term deals who aren't completely shot still have value in the NHL, no matter how much we are sick of them. That's why he's played in their top 4 all season when he's been healthy.

MacDonald has been hurt the past week, and even if he was healthy I think they'll just roll with the six healthy dmen they have.

After they trade a Dman, yes (at least I am hoping the trade at least one more Dman). Streit would be my main chip but really no one outside of Ghost should be safe.

He must have some quality since Snider and Homer gave him a 30 mill contract

you gotta think they want to get him up and back on track as soon as possible. Stashing that contract in the minors isn't a sustainable situation for another four years.

They are just stashing him away until the Flyers are ready to contend

Probably not.

If they are out of the playoffs at the TDL and they decide to trade Mark Streit, I can see them bringing AMac back up.

Thanks Bill. Lucky win last night. With the third period being just plain bad, we actually fared well during OT. I am still surprised that the forwards were no where in site on the last goal, and Parise had a freebee in front of the net. I am not excusing Shutz, and Mason, but to let a forward sit in front of the net like that is not good. Our forwards have a tendency to leave the zone, sit at the line waiting for a pass while watching the play unfold, or get ahead of the puck, and over skate the puck. I don't know why they are in such a hurry, but they forget to stay in the field of play, thus creating a noticeable gap between the D, and forwards; even our announcers during the game noticed this gap.
In addition, the turnovers will eventually catch up with us, and to expect the goalies to bail us out is not an option. G, please stop with the "no-look" passes. Not everyone is as skilled as you are, or is expecting the pass. In addition, lets get some pucks on net. How many times do you hear that the shot is high, and wide? Or we dump the puck in, and no one gets to the puck.
Finally, what is up with our play in the last five minutes of every period? Do we just stop playing, and are waiting for the period to end?
We have two good wins under our belt, but they were harder to get than they needed to be. Is it lack of effort? Is it lack of focus? Is it lack of quality players? Only the players, and coaches can answer that one. And, this is where I question the players. It has been our MO for a while now, and something has to change in order for the team to be competitive every night, and for a playoff spot.

Meh -- it's semantics. They ate money on Grossmann to cover the real dollars owed to Pronger, that I can acknowledge, but it's not that simple because it ignores the fact that the Flyers had to take Gagner back and Arizona absolutely wanted Pronger for accounting dollars vs. actual payout

Just because Maloney can't say that they didn't value Grossmann at 3.5K for two more years doesn't mean that isn't how the deal shook out, because the Flyers did have to take Gagner back
