Someone else told me Nashville was really awesome to go to. He said after the game they went to a bar wearing their Devils Jerseys and nobody cared. They didnt boo them or give them a hard time.
Some people call that cool. I think they just arent diehard enough out there in the 'Ville! - thickman1178
I went to a game there last month. They are good fans but it is definitely "Ice Tractor" territory. |

I think at a point the people who had skill realized they didnt need to fight and focused more on developing said skills. - thickman1178
See if plug enforcers were done away with, skill with hard knocks would come back. That's my theory, anyways. I'd much rather see good hockey players stick up for each other than bad hockey players "protecting" the good ones. |

I wish there were still players like Brad May in the league. All of a sudden it was like you either fight or play, May could do both pretty well. - Grinder47
No doubt, guys like Jarome Iginla, Wayne Simmonds, and David Backes will (should) always have a place in the league. And Brad May was a good, solid player. But in Buffalo, he's deified because of one goal. Basically, imagine in you replaced the Mario statue outside of CEC with one of Talbot from SCF Game 7. That's Brad May in Buffalo. |

I think you are seeing that. There will always be dirty/chippy players, but the no skill players are much fewer than they were even 5 years ago. |

May have something to do with guys a lot younger are playing a lot earlier these days due to 'natural' growth & development (training, coaching & ability due to the early growth of their bodies). Also the cap - play a talented youngster over an old talentless player for the same cost??
Also, Bettman war on fighting has probably put the nail in the coffin for a lot of the types of player you're talking about. |

If we add a defenseman why would Pouliot come up?
Then you have Letang-Maata, Dumoulin-Lovejoy, Daley- addition.
All those guys are probably equal to or better than Pouliot for playoff hockey at this point.
I would expect us to add a dman at some point. Unless we decide we need a forward. |

Who do they add and who do they trade for him? Pouliot looked pretty good in last years playoffs.. |

Jon Scott may be the last true "enforcer" the league will ever see. I'm talking about the guys who get 3 minutes a night and are expected to do nothing but fight/hurt people. Even guys like Shawn Thornton and Zac Rinaldo are becoming fewer and fewer, thankfully. |

Still can't believe Boston traded a 3rd rounder for Rinaldo. What a dopey move. |

Man some people are actually angry that Scott's going to the All Star game. I think its the only reason to watch. |

Honestly I'm getting to the point where I think we need a LW more than a RD. The only reason we'd need an RD is Letang insurance and that player won't come cheap at all. We're talking in the Vatanen, Shattenkirk, Jones category. I think for this team it's better to gamble that Tanger will stay healthy and either stay put, find a really cheap rental LW, or make a Pouliot centric deal for a young LW. |

I won't watch the game, but seeing him in the puck control relay and/or passing relay is worth watching. |

Pens have so many LHD (Maatta, Dumoulin, Daley, Cole). I'm skeptical Pouliot is getting a chance anytime soon if Maatta and Dumoulin keep playing this way.
They need a winger that can score more than a dman. |

I am kinda interested to see what Shane Doan would bring to the Pens.. 15 goals, 21 points this season on Arizona.. |

What's Lecavaliers cap hit 4.5m? Schenn? Must be taking back salary surely???
Something else in the mix here, LA trying to get Kopi signed & want Lucic (questionable, think he may be the Buff trade chip??), & with Pearson & Taffoli getting upgrades shortly???? So many questions??? |

Yeah, Filthy is eating 50% on both. Still would have liked them to eat that contract long term.
EDIT: Vinny says he is retiring at the end of the year. I wanted that ugly contract hanging over the Flyers head for the next two |

They still have a lot of dead money in Umberger and AMac. But this will certainly help him. Damn you Vinny! You had them by the balls! |
