A flyers fan would..I think his inclusion to the all star game renders any accolades ever given to or for an all star being an all star completely void of merit - taleisyreXIII
"A Flyers fan would"...I'm not sure what that means.
As I posted earlier, I want to see the skills competition with Jon Scott simply to see if he finishes above last in any category, which would lead to shaming of the player he finishes ahead of.
As per the "A Flyers fan would," I have no desire to ever see Jon Scott play a game of hockey, if that's what you're referring to. |

Completely implied that a typical flyers fan...which seem to prefer the rougher side.of hockey...would be more apt to celebrate a goon being in the all star game. As a fan of that organization you cannot play stupid to this stereotype. My best friend is a flyers fan and we have had our share of battles over the years...I know full well the mind of a typical flyers fan. |

I'm reminded of the time we put together a collection of the Rat All Star Team. I'm assuming that's the implication. The Rat All Star Team would certainly beat the All Finesse Star team, btw. Punch All Finesse goalie Jani Hurme in the back of the head when McCreary isn't looking and the whole team unravels. |

You do realize that there are only 11 players per team and they every team has to be represented, right? - jmatchett383
No, he doesn't understand that. |

hahaha I missed that.
A first line of Rinaldo, Scott, and Raffi Torres. Maybe bring Carcillo, Avery, and Chris Simon out of retirement. |

I think the first line had James Neal and Marchand on it. Torres was on there for sure. I nominated Vaclav Varada for an A on the sweater. |

Vaclav Varada, oh man. That guy was a big name coming out of the WHL. Instead, he was just a bad second-rate fighter. How about Kaleta? |

Seriously what does Perron have to do for this board to cut him some slack? he had an assist, should have had a couple more, skated like a bat out of hell to clober a guy on a break away. I think if he gave each one of you a million dollars you would still hate him. Kunitz played great last night too. Didn't translate to much but he did. - Dcoms
Score goals like a 1st line winger is expected to do. K thanks. He's on pace for 10 or so goals.
Kunitz played great? For a 3rd or 4th liner, yeah ok. For a 1st liner playing great means scoring the occasional goal. |

I asked about Kunitz playing great not Perron. But lets not pretend Perron is great by any means either. |

Maybe, I dunno. There were so many rats in this league in the 1990s that I went heavy on them. Gilmour. Marchment. Cload. Dale Hunter. Ulf. Darcy Tucker. I remember posting a video of then Penguin teammates Steve Downie being run by Max Lapierre on a routine dump in. |

I liked the trade for Perron but since his hot start last season he's been a disappointment. I've expected more out of him and hopefully Sully can bring out the best in him. He, like others, has played better lately with MJ gone but he needs to put the puck in the net. He's going to be a key for the Penguins to make a run. |

So we get into the All Star game roster yet? Anyone mad over no Crosby, or happy he has more time to rest up and not get hurt?
And of course, wishing Letang would have got the snub too by that logic... don't think Malkin could have been snubbed. |

I liked it too, but c'mon, the guy has played the majority of the season with Malkin or Crosby and he's got 4 stinking goals. In a contract year. On no planet is that good enough.
Bottom line, if our top 6 wings don't start scoring more goals the thought of climbing back into the playoffs is laughable.
Kessel isn't exactly earning his paycheck either. Put the puck in the net like your sizable contract says you should be doing. |

Not really much at all when I read through the first three pages... just a couple "didn't deserve it till now" mumbles.
Guess the All Star game really doesn't mean poop anymore |

That's all it comes down to. Crosby and Malkin are producing. The defense is healthy and been effective under Sully. Goaltending remains strong. The wingers need to play up to their salaries. |

WRT Letang: I know I'll get no support here, but honestly, from an entertainment standpoint, Gostisbehere at 3-on-3 would be amazing.
But I know that was not gonna happen. - jmatchett383

Basically, he's sort of like a cross between a young Letang and a young GoGo. Faster and better with the puck that GoGo, not Letang-esque though defensively. |

I might be looking past this season but I'd be ok with the Pens moving Perron, Kunitz and Cole and just brining in their young guys for a run. Give Sheary, Simon, Sprong and Pouliot a chance to get some top 9 ice time in this offense first system and see what they can do. I'll take Sprong shooting the puck on Crosby's wing over Perron or Kunitz right now. |

Perron is just not that good.
Kunitz is old.
Kessel is fat and good for about 1 quick rush a shift.
Meanwhile Kap scores the GW goal for Finland. |
