1: Nothing is more comical than a Leafs fan coming on here saying enjoy it while it lasts. I'm pretty sure all Leaf fans have been waiting almost 6 decades for another championship. Hey, when will the Leafs simply build a decent hockey team? We were the joke of the NHL, not anymore, I can say for sure that the Leafs are the joke of the entire league, especially Canada.
No one is more shocked than me. I never saw this coming. I have been a fan since 93 and have bashed the moves they made and the FA signings and all that. I'm not going to sugarcoat it. Seeing the improvement you can't get too high. This team still needs goal scoring. They still need a sniper to get this team over the hump. As of right now they are only 6 points ahead of the 8th seeded team in the East. You would think with a 9 game winning streak they would have put some room between us and 8th seed but that's not the case.
Tallon needs to be aggressive during the deadline. They are in a position to at least make the playoffs if they play above .500 the rest of the season. You know Campbell's 7+ million is going bye bye at the end of the season, you know Bolland will be bought out of that ridiculous 5 million plus contract. The guy doesn't belong on the ice and on the roster anymore.
Try and bring in Byfuglin, bring in a sniper. Maybe some miracle get Stamkos to come. Idk, just improve this team.
Lock up Barkov for the next 10 years. I was wrong about him.
Ekblad and Barkov are the two cornerstones of the organization
Huberdeau isn't the scorer I thought he would be but damn does he dish it.
Sign Jagr for another 2 seasons please!!!
Duchene would be a nice addition if they can bring him in. |

You really... really... as a fan of the Hurricanes, should be among the last group of fans to come here and spout garbage. There are more employees in your arena every night than fans. Just stop. - Panthers88
This.
I'm the last person that wants to see any team relocated (on either side of the border) but if Canadians are going to troll a weak fan base in a "non-traditional" market it should be Carolina. Canes have had a lot more on-ice success than Arizona or Fla. and a much more stable ownership/front office group. (Karmanos is in the HOF; can you even name the owner of the Coyotes?)
Yes, the Canes have been lousy since winning the cup in '06, but they're not awful. There are no arena issues that I'm aware of, and unlike the BS he pulled in Hartford, Karmanos is committed to keeping the team in town. So why is their arena half-empty every night? And why aren't Canadians calling them out on it?
I'm a Devils fan, so I'm sympathetic to any small-market fans getting bullied by so-called "real" hockey fans in Canada, New York, Philly, etc...the thing is, if the NHL relocated a franchise at the first sign of attendance or ownership trouble then the Coyotes, Panthers, Hurricanes, Blue Jackets, and Devils would be playing somewhere else... but so would the Blackhawks, Penguins, Blues, Stars, Sabres, Senators, Oilers, Flames, Predators, and Islanders. Oh, and the Red Wings couldn't draw flies in the early 80's. Add them to the list.
Or maybe we should give the Cats a chance with a committed ownership group and a competitive team. As Dan said, South Florida sports fans are fickle--but they're coming around. Would love to see another Panthers-Devils playoff series this year

They are. There have been constant rumours but the Canes owner is a billionaire.
Also, not once did I say anything disparaging about Panthers attendance you colossal morons.

I still think you're full of shyt!
In the time that I've been a member on this site, you've always bashed the team. Yet you call yourself a fan? I don't know who's worse, you or Harveykline? No matter what you say, you're not a fan and you're always negative towards this franchise. What kind of person calls themselves a fan yet always, 100% of the time, complains and bashes the team? You're like a woman beater. You say you love her, yet you beat her all every day.. It's creepy. It's like you have nothing more to do then come on here and complain.
You know how I know all of this about you, because instead Of saying "The Panthers are 5 points up from Montreal in the standings", " 1st in the division" or " 4th in the league" you say" we're only 6 points from 8th" Nothing like being negative!!! You say " we need a sniper to get over the hump" and needing more scoring, yet as of right now, the team is scoring an average of 3.5 goals a game! I believe the only other team scoring more goals a game than us is the NYR. As of right now, we have nothing to complain about. This team is firing on all cylinders. Whether we're leading in the game, or playing catch up, we're winning games and so far, it's a 10 game win streak, the best in the league thus far.
Btw, Dan, keep up the good work! Happy New Year

 - NJDevils42630 The reason that a lot of fans from traditional markets pick the Canes, Panthers, Coyotes and even the DEVILS is likely due to their poor attendance at the gate.
https://en.wikipedia.org/...League_attendance_figures
There are reasons for each underperforming team... but the justification given about poorly performing teams on the ice doesn't hold water with fans in true hockey markets. If you look at the numbers on that link teams that have been pretty terrible (Toronto, Buffalo, Edmonton, Columbus, Colorado) all pull in more fans regularly.
Don't get me wrong... I'm not saying it is right for them to petition for relocation to Quebec City (I think it's a bad idea), or Hamilton (team would make a bundle but Buffalo would likely suffer); but you can understand why they want a team where "they think" it would be better supported. (Until the CDN dollar stays at this low level that is!)
Anyways. Nice to see the Panthers doing something. We'll see come April how "for real" they are. Devils are also a BIG surprise this season, right up there with the Yotes. |

Neither. The simple fact is people are noticing the Panthers. For the better part of 2 decades they were ignored by the hockey world. Not anymore. Those criticizing are doing so because the Panthers are a threat. This fan is loving it. - BCPanthersFan

The good news here is, all the Panthers needed to do is win like they are and free agents will take notice. i mean, if you're a wealthy athlete and don't have state taxes let alone the warm weather and tan women... what isn't to like about playing with the Panthers? I'd love to see a massive free agent signing this summer or maybe Tallon pulls some magic out of his a$$ and makes an awesome trade before this years deadline. We'll soon find out, but as a true Panther fan from day one... is this winning streak a dream or what? |

What all you people who don't live in Florida understand is, we literally have a million things to do down here. So if a team sucks for two decades nobody is gonna show up. All the teams you just named drives me crazy because teams like buffalo, Edmonton, Columbus, Calgary ect. Have nothing else going on in their towns! Like seriously what else is there to do besides hockey!? Don't compare south Florida to the likes of those cities we have every major sports team down here they all have 1 hockey (besides buffalo) we have the beach, Everglades, nightlife, 4 other sporting events to go to (gonna be 5 with the MLS team coming). So please just stop comparing us to other cities, sorry for the rant that stuff just drives me crazy.
Once our fan base saw the commitment from our owners and the winning they are starting to come back. Sports radio is finally talking about us now, bars are starting to play the games on TV, friends who liked hockey, but didn'tt Really care are now starting to care a lot. Winning changes everything and we're all starting to see that. The life long fans like us in here deserve this and should be allowed to be happy about what's taking place.

Where the hell have you been?! Harveykline has been trying to take your place ever since you left and it just doesn't feel right.... Glad to see your finally starting to come around! If you look at all the draft picks TALLON made and analyze them he's been pretty spot on with all of them. Gudrbanson is starting to become shut down on D, huberdeau can dish out the puck like nobody's business, Barkov is well... Barkov, and ekblad will win a Norris trophy one day. Not to mention bjugstad and trocheck! These are just a few players I can go on and on. You use to bash Tallon, I think he proved you wrong.. Outside of a couple of FA deals.....

That is perhaps one of the most ignorant rants I've read.
To say that they have nothing else to do is completely ridiculous. You say there are no other sports in those cities? IGNORANT.
Columbus also has a MLS team.
Calgary and Edmonton both have CFL and professional Lacrosse teams.
Buffalo has the Bills (as you mentioned) and a Professional Lacrosse team.
Toronto (who you conveniently left off your list); has MLB, NBA, MLS and Pro Lacrosse to name a few.
The other interesting thing... they ALL have nightlife! LOL
And since your comprehension is poor. I was never comparing them. Simply replying to why folks OFTEN do make the comparisons.
I've been to Miami/Ft Lauderdale. To be honest. I would rather go to Calgary. |

Dude you just named MLS, lacrosse and CFL....... Those leagues aren't even in the same light as the four major sports "NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB" we have all four of those sports down here.. What sporting events are those people gonna go to a lacrosse game or an NHL game? That's what I was getting at. You mentioning those events like they are a big deal is comical haha. Oh and btw I'm well traveled and have been to most of those places and let me just say
Nightlife anywhere else doesn't compare to south Florida, EVERYWHERE up north closes at 2.. You can go almost anywhere down here and be out until 4-6 a.m. By the time your buzzed it's time to go home.... No thank you. |

Let's go point by point here.
-CFL is actually HUGE to a lot of folks in Canada. (not me personally) Many watch CFL and hate hockey all together.
-You being "well traveled"... I find it hard to believe your travels have brought you to places like Edmonton and Calgary. I've had family in each and that is the only reason I ever went.
-Nightlife being open til 4-6am... Ahhh... now I get it. I'm guessing you're in your early 20's. I remember my first beer... |
