Goldy got a hatty in the A, maybe time to give him another go? I know his D is suspect but how many of our bottom 6 have suspect D? - BeastModeS62
I think that would be good *if* they let him play on one of the top 2 lines. I think PDB doesn't trust him and would likely bury him on the 3rd or 4th line limiting his chance for any success unfortunately. |

If he was protected on the top two lines he may actually score some goals for us. |

Some of the things I think that are making for such inconsistency:
1 - Lack of forward depth.
2 - Lack of defensive depth.
3 - Inconsistent goal tending.
4 - Bad use of resources (IMHO).
5 - Young players not emerging as planned.
6 - Some of the key older players showing signs of slowing down (Thornton and Martin in particular). - ssullivan28

Big Joe should be traded for what value he has left and then they should draft all dmen for the next 4 years. The color teal isnt helping |

I don't have anything against Schenn, but I don't think he would have been a good fit for the Sharks right now. |

We can't get out of our own way because our defense, plain and simple, is way below average.
Burns and Martin is just a brutal pairing. They looked okay to start the season but they just keep burning each other shift after shift. Fix it.
Vlasic is amazing and makes a very average defender (Justin Braun) look decent.
Our bottom pairing is about as bad as it gets in the league.
It's clear DW isn't going to do anything so we need a big change back there and it's up to Peter the Boar to fix it...
Put Dilly back with Burnsie, for whatever reason that pairing works, I think Burns feels more responsible to actually play his position and at least try on defense.
Martin has clearly lost a step, especially since that recent injury... The one thing Braun has going for him is the guy can skate with the best of them; and he tends to actually play defense unlike Brent run around Burns. Put Martin with Brauner and see how it goes.
That leaves the defensive all star to play with whoever the Boar decides can play with him. He will make whoever it is a much better defender and they can be a pure shut down pairing that plays with a skilled, puck moving forward line.
End rant. |

I like where you were going with this. Dillion with Burns worked well last year. But id keep Vlasic with Braun because you need a top shut down pair. Then put The veteran Martin with a rookie and tell Martin he has to play conservatively to cover for the rookie. That will also likely help Martins game as he shouldn't be pushing himself anyways. |
