He only just went third overall two years ago after putting up 105 and 108 point seasons in the Q. You think Tampa is going to trade him for pennies on the dollar?
By your logic Sanhiem must not be worth much either. - hereticpride
kid said he wants out

Cooper did kinda seem to hate him despite seemingly trusting their other youth much more(probably because he coached them in the AHL). - Nucker101
Will never understand why pro sports makes this garbage seem like rocket science
In the real world, no one likes every single person they run across or meet. Sometimes, you can absolutely hate people
The Godfather wrote about this last year. Drouin and Cooper simply do not love each other, at all. They just extended the coach, so move the kid for the big return he is gonna get and move the (frank) on
But nope. They're gonna drag it out and drag it out and drag it out, because for some reason, keeping someone who the coach doesn't like and who the player doesn't want to play for makes sense to someone, somewhere
Move on and be done with it -- you chose the coach. Move on |

Or be the professionals you're supposed to be and do your job.
Maybe Drouin isn't getting it done on the ice, at practice, whatever. His injuries this season aren't helping. He had a pretty good season last year, but that's a guarantee of nothing in the future. Maybe the Lightning don't feel they'll a good return for him at this point in the season. |

It's never as simple as "do your job," no matter how much you get paid. Mike Keenan hated Brett Hull and Pavel Bure. The feeling was mutual. Lindros and Clarke. Patrick Roy and Mario Tremblay. On and on.
Sometimes, people just don't like each other. This stuff is a job. High paying, but still a job. Sending the kid to the minors does nothing, because the coach and the player don't like each other. That isn't going to change whether he is hurt, healthy, on fire or slumping.
It's a personality conflict. In the real world, when you have that, sometimes management has to step in and simply choose one and cut the other guy loose

It's a waste of an asset. How is the story going to turn out? The way it did with Evander Kane in Winnipeg, and Lindros here.
You are going to move the kid. Him riding buses isn't going to change the fact that you are going to move him |

Sending him to the minors does something, it gets the kid playing hockey while they try and sort out what they want to do.

Drouin would be a huge addition. Are you prepared to give up Sanhiem, a 1st and BSchenn or Laughton tho? - hereticpride dont think it would take that much
Sanheim for drouin I do ..tweak it here and there |

I would be OK with offering Sanhiem and Laughton, assuming we move Streit and can still head into this draft with two 1sts. I'm not sure that the Bolts would go for that though. |

I couldn't part with Ghost, Morin, Sanheim or Provorov for Drouin. I wouldn't do it. I'm more likely to offer this season's first round pick and/or a player like Laughton or Hagg but nothing more. I wouldn't offer much. |

Yzerman is pretty analytical so I'm guessing he'd want one of Sanheim/Provorov/Ghost involved. Don't think he'd want Morin as a center piece. |
