It's like that feeling after you get a cast taken off. Johnston was the cast.

It's starting to look like Johnston was an incredibly incompetent coach. Pens losing under Sully look better than when the Pens won under Johnston.

The amazing thing since that change is how much better Letang looks on the PP. Which figures, because he's got more room with PK'ers worried about the Two Headed Monster on the other side.

they also have to respect him dumping it to his left with Kessel on the other side of him, not for the one timer, but Kessel can walk in and snipe with the best of em.

Foot on the throat is what they need. They need to press their game. Johnston would be playing a 0-0-5 defense with a 2 goal lead. Sully needs to push them.

I really like what Sullivan said in the PG today about telling players to stop being so focused on scoring. Do everything else right, relax and let good things happen. That's good advice for a team that has been too tight.

And Hornqvist is once again effective on the PP because he's not spending his time chasing pucks in the corners.

Hockey really is a game of simple fixes. The best coaches don't need to do much besides not stifling a team with silly philosophical imperatives.

I always got so frustrated with dump and chase on the PP.. you should never.. ever have to dump on the PP. Zone entries are so simple.

Man, this is how we were supposed to look coming into the season.

Anyone miss MJ's "defensively responsible" system?

- Pens_Burgh

It legitimately makes me cringe just the thought of what MJ did to this team!

That looked easy. The way it should look with nearly perfect PP personnel.

Suck on a goal sandwich, Martin.

doing that more often will be more of a deterrent than anything a guy like tom sesito can bring.

Anyone have the Penguins play by play stream telecast? These Islander guys are idiots. They called an Islander power play that did not happen and they kept saying the Islanders were on the PP when they were not for over a minute before they realized. And they said that Letang is the only offensive dman we have.

He was on the half wall for that shot, but that was a product of movement on the PP, which is another obvious thing that we've somehow been (frank)ing up. I'm loving this PP! Should be 3-3

Finally, not coasting in the 2nd period with a 2 goal lead... I won't blame them for coasting with a 4 goal lead. I won't like it, so if they choose to coast, they better turn it back on after they give up a goal to make it 4-1.

He looked fine when here as a backup... fancy stat or not I thought his career earned him a chance to become a starter somewhere.
