Woodford can be a lot more than BT, but it's worth it. I've found Bulliet is a good middle of the two bourbon - really tasty. - mw630
Agree ... never have had Bulliet... will give it a try

Now last 6 (which could very easily be a 6 game winning streak!):
Record: 4-1-1
Goals: 20-11
Shots: 218 to 189
PP: 8 for 21
PK: 15 for 15
Results are continuing on a great upward trajectory! |

Rutherford legitimately sounded happy when he got Daley and said he didn't plan on making any more trades anytime soon and at this point we all know the Old Man can pretty much be taken at face value. Under Sullivan our defense has done what it has to. It hasn't been great but it's been serviceable. If Ruth goes out and gets a rental it will probably be, and should be, a LW. - Victoro311
Its the same thing every year it seems. Contenders are short on a top 4 D-man and/or a top 6 winger. We are probably short on both. Top 4 D-man is the more pressing need, top 6 (left) winger is the more long term need.
Daley has been a god send, honestly. I really enjoy watching him play. He was flying around the first 2 periods.
I'd take either a LW or top-4 dman but I require they can play a physical game. It's an element we're missing... |

So during the game, did I see us with the #6 powerplay in the NHL? Or was I looking at the Islander PK and mixing them up? - Guile
I think we are still 22 overall in PP. We have a lot of ground to make up |

Where has run it in ranger been? Too much danger for him to be a cocky ranger perhaps? |

I admit I'm the least experienced here in hockey sense - actually I have none! , but I just don't see what the top 4 D man rush is??? Our results are picking up, we have nearly always had good numbers of shots on goals (just a poop shooting % that = less goals), our GA isn't insane & quite frankly been very decent - later tonite I'll have a look at a few comparisons, we have Maatta & Letang top 2 then a very capable 2nd pairing in Dumolove. With that Daley is also a top 4 D man. Not to mention Dinger who maybe top 4 if he ever gets the chance & Pouliot who is top 4 minimum projected.
I think trading for another D man, unless an organisation throws 1 at us like the Hawks did , is crazy & will continue the bad moves previous GM's have done. I think we run with what we have until we see the full potential of this group.
Let these guys settle in & play as a group - a team! |

Letang is the reason. We just cant count on him to stay healthy and play 30 minutes a night for a full season and playoffs.
Dumo has been excellent. Maatta, Daley, Lovejoy have been solid. Cole has been bad. This team needs another PMD, preferably right handed, preferably with some snarl...oh poop I just described Byfuglien again.. |

I'm actually real disappointed with the guys that rubbish this team relentlessly but are never seen after a win. Ok we haven't played well this year, yes there are questionable trades made & those guys never let up about them when we lose.
But I'd love them to just get on here after a win & appreciate it with all of us! Ok they think we suck but when we win, their supposed team they are a fan of, wins as well! (frank)ing celebrate it! Feel good that our Pens have showed signs of life & had a go!
True fans may whinge & whine when we lose but also celebrate when we win!
Let's go Peeeennnnnnssssssssssss! |

Speaking of lineups and coaching decisions. We haven't talked much about that move to put Cullen with Geno. I think its an extremely clever move. Sully is rewarding players that deserve it but also promoting players to lines that make sense. I felt like Johnston just shuffled lines for the hell of it.
Cullen likely wont last on that line forever, but I sense real accountability and players buying in. |

Isn't Dinger RHD? I really think he has an edge as well, just can't get a look in.
I agree with Letang playing way too many minutes. On 1 PP today he played the whole thing then some of the 5x5 after it?? That's crazy! Add the fact Sully has been impressing on us in his interviews about monitoring the shift lengths, that was ridiculous. Add the fact that Daley has shown on the PP he is very dangerous as well with a great shot (when it's on the net ), there's no reason to keep Letang on a shift too long. Sully has to start regulating Letangs minutes because we need him healthy. |

There has been a mixture of feelings towards Cullen throughout this year. I have seen it on this board all over the place. But, when you consider his cap hit and what he brings to the table each night, he has been nothing short of a pleasant surprise to this team. |

Cole is scaring me with how bad he has been. The contract, while not overwhelming, looks to be horrible. Did they jump on it too soon, possibly! I mean we did get him for Robert Bortuzzo . . . |

Those people are the same people that want to trade Crosby. So just ignore them. I rather have Cullen in the line up for all 82 + than Plotnikov. You want to talk about being useless, he is the definition of it. For a big dude, he gets man handled very easily, no play making, slow and shot sucks. I would package him in a heartbeat come trade deadline. Im sure some team out west would take him like the Kings. |

No none wants him. No goals in any game ever.
I like the way this teams looks/feels right now. I think we have something special going on here. We will end up going into the playoffs near the top of our division if we keep this up.
Maybe just wishful thinking. |

Its encouraging to see them playing better hockey for sure. They still have a little catching up to do even though i think they're only 2 pts out. Nice to see Sid coming out of his slump along with #72. |

People who think Cullen hasn't been good this season are stupid idiots. I've only heard one person on here complain about him and his main complaint was that he looked slow so I disregarded everything else he said.
Your dogging of Plotnikov I think is hyperbole. He was playing really good hockey when Plotnikov-Cullen-Fehr was a thing. He looks like a guy that will figure it out eventually. Maybe it won't be this season, but I like what he brings and he's marginally improved his skating as the season has gone on. |
